Please, I'm trying not to let on that I actually do anything beyond occasionally answer the phone and post a few things up on the internet. This is ruining my carefully cultivated image :-)
Well it looks like I will.
The challenge is not to become tethered to a device that gives you access, and others access to you, 24/7.
Seems as if too many of us spoil the experience of the back country by staying in contact with the "front country".
Having lived in smaller communities for over 30 years I'm used to the slower pace of life and cellular coverage. It's a small sacrifice to make to be able to enjoy the great outdoors on a daily basis. I don't think I'd give up Prescott for faster cell coverage in Chicago.
Prescott is an interesting hub for innovative small businesses, as stated there are a number of Expedition related companies here, but there are also precision manufacturers, aerospace companies and multinationals here.
There are three colleges, Prescott College offering a strong adventure...
Dirk, I explained in my e mail to you that the pressure delivered from the water pump was adjustable. It can be lowered by rotating the allen head on the pump. If the pressure is left at the factor setting then it will be on the high side for the system, when adjusted correctly it works fine.
May I suggest replacing the 55 watt back up light with an LED light. The power requirements are much lower, and the wire size smaller.
The battery tender is a 110v battery charger and would have to be wired up to a shore plug for power supply via an extension cord. When driving you can charge...
I've admired your work for years, and this is another example of your great work.
I'm guessing your initial remake about getting banned is because your company doesn't sponsor the forum. I personally don't think that you'd be banned for the post, you might get a polite PM suggesting you become...
There may well be something going on with this system other than the gauge of the wire, and everything should be checked out. The 10 gauge wire run over 25 ft will only produce a trick charge to the aux battery. If the battery was fully charged when it was put in then it may run the system for a...
Try running 4 gauge wire back to the battery. That should solve your problem.
Make sure you have a fuse or resettable breaker as close to the starter battery as possible. Use Anderson connectors if you need to plug and unplug the system.
I'd have to defer to Mario on delivery schedules, send him an e mail to mario at adventuretrailers dot com and he'll be able to advise you.
kb7our's production time isn't going to reflect current production time as he was one of the early adopters who put their name down for the Habitat when it...
No link to the connectors, we have lots of smaller items like this that are not on our website. PM or send me an e mail with you shipping zip code and City and I'll send you pricing. The socket and plug are sold as separate units so specify if you want both.
We have never experienced any issues...
Wade, it's difficult to give an accurate date for delivery of your Habitat at this point. As you know the forge that makes the torsion bars has been delayed with deliveries which impacts when the shell manufacturer can deliver to us.
It's the same issue any small manufacturer faces, if vendor...
The cord tight fittings are great if you want to pass cable through a bulkhead. We use a waterproof plug and socket set up. These work well if you want to be able to disconnect the exterior solar panels from the interior solar controller.
Purely personal comments I made about glues. As I said I have nothing against joinery, and agree that modern glue and dovetails work well together. My comparison is more historical and applicable to this situation.
The strength of a dado or dovetail glued with fish paste vs. a butt joint with...
I'm sad to say that modern glues make artistic joinery nothing more than art.
Butt joints with a good glue are as strong as dovetail with less effective glue. The reason behind all these joints was to create more surface area so that older less effective glues could work.
Don't get me wrong I...
