This is a maybe, could be offer but with the clock ticking I figured I would put the word out.
Right now I am working with Wounded Warrior to offer a free passenger seat for the maiden voyage of the W.A.V.E as we join Overland Training for the first Alumni Trip.
However WW is concerned about...
Take advantage of my laziness now, if you wait I will have fixed up things and the price will be a' rising.
This isn't just any FJ Cruiser, this is the:
2007 Expedition Trophy winning,
Continental Divide Expedition completeing,
2008 SEMA Show featured,
Overland Journal Gear Guide articled...
I just rec'd my latest issue of Australian 4wd Action magazine and noticed a battery advertisement that included a Sportsmobile.
Just thought it was kinda cool to see a USA made rig used in an Aussie ad since we spend so much time drooling over the Aussie goods.
I would rather not type "Disabled Explorers Sportsmobile 4wd Wheelchair Accessible Van for Expeditions" over and over so let's just be friends and call it the DE SMB WAVE and that will be much easier :)
We are working on a new project vehicle and thought it would be interesting to document the...
Ok question for anyone in the know...
As part of the Disabled Explorers Sportsmobile build the goal is to put in a drivers side power transfer base like this
And then swap in seats like this for more support when offroad
However the big question is about the factory seats.. the rig comes...
Hello Everyone,
Here is another gotta go item.
I have a used Pelican 1600 case with normal overlanding scratches of course.
It is rock solid, water & dust proof and as you can see in the pic I have 1 layer of foam.
I have really been on the fence about selling this as Pelican cases last forever...
Hello Everyone,
This is the first of many things I will be putting up for sale as I move away from the FJ Cruiser and into the Sportsmobile.
This is a couple of Lightforce 140's that I bought a long time ago and never installed. I do NOT have the wiring kit but there are a number of our forum...
Since we had to redo our ARB Bushranger X-jack review due to a website failure I figured it would also be a good chance to offer some long term perspective on my favorite giant orange marshmallow. After almost 2 yrs of use and abuse it has held up grandly. I had bought a cheaper alternative to...
Those of you who went to the Overland Expo might have seen Don drive his rig Wikid around the closed course with the windows completely covered using his 8 camera system. Our setup is only 4 cameras but it has seen some serious abuse so today as I was uninstalling the Total Vision Self Spotting...
I know there has to be some SMB owner around here who has a laptop installed...and if so what mount did you use?
I am curently using a Jeniko floor mount in my FJ Cruiser but not sure if that is the best solution on a van with the need to remove the doghouse. Unless I install the mount on the...
I need a little enlightenment :)
With my loan approved for the Sportsmobile (and their super coolness to donated part of the build) I need to get my head around the specifics of driving one of these things.
The FJ Cruiser is the only 4wd I have owned in recent years and it didn't have hubs...
Well as I prep my FJ Cruiser for sale I figure it is about time I get a build thread posted before it is too late!
First a little background to set the scene. I hadn't owned a 4wd in 20yrs, not since high school when I had a super tall '73 Blazer with big tires and no roof. Since that time I was...
Ever since our ancestors discovered how to make a campfire people have wanted to illuminate the darkness and make camp life easier. Of course as the centuries have passed our choices in light sources have gotten cooler, matter of fact literally cooler with the ARB LED Adventure Light.
The guys...
Ok well maybe not attack, but it cracked the tree in half and pushed it out of the way with no damage at all.
I was running a trail with my younger son and we came across a tree that had fallen across the trail. Almost since I bought my FJ Cruiser I had run a heavy steel front bumper so with...
Since this is the only place with a dedicated subforum for disabled backcountry overlanders I figured I would start a thread to be a resource for folks searching the web.
I will also be posting this question on a number of disabled focused forums but past efforts haven't turned up much so maybe...
Ok I am trying to save some cash here so any help would be great.
My son Nathan has a 92 Range Rover that we are trying to fix up and with the amazing Phoenix heat it has developed a leak in the stuby hose behind the water pump that connects to the manifold.
This doesn't look like fun to replace...
Quick hi to the forum from Europe as Nathan my older son & I backpack across various countries. Yeah it isn't really the type of trip to report on here but we are seeing really cool stuff!
Sorry no pics yet but lots of rig sightings...
Defender 110's
G-wagens that are set up for real travel not...
I have 1000 reasons to look for lightweight solutions for my FJ Cruiser, as in 1000lbs over gross vehicle weight, as in increased tire & suspension wear and decreased fuel mileage. So when Aluminess mentioned that they were introducing an aluminum front bumper I knew that I didn't just want one...
Wow time has flown by since the Overland Expo and I am still in awe of the event. I can't say thanks enough to everyone who helped with the event, who bought raffle tickets, who bid at the silent auction and who stopped by to see the display/demo/driving.
I have been wanting to get this post...
I just got my newest issue of Australian 4wd Action Mag and they have a story on a crazy cool new awning.

I can't wait to hear more about this thing!
