I am often confused by the one or the other overlander or rock crawler monikers. While I fully understand and agree that both do exist separately, I also think that there is a separate subgroup in between. That is where I feel that I reside. I explore remote locations via overland methods...
What do you plan to do? How much "offroad driving" (yes I know that most of the roads in Africa are barely roads). How much do you plan to camp out of the truck? How long are you going for? The new JK's are very capable from the factory, the rest just depends on what you are looking to do.

I think that it looks pretty good and could look very good all kitted out. Unfortunately they couldn't release a new vehicle with the classic Defender utilitarian look that we all are used to.
