2004 AWD Chevy Express 1500 - First Van!

Interested in where you are headed with this. I am building up an e350 and kinda worried about head room as I am tall too (6'6"). No top currently in the budget but I also haven't lived in mine yet. I don't think an extra 12" of fiberglass around the top would add to much weight.

    Knife thread

Looks a lot like a micarta pin. You can get them in different colors to match stuff like this. That is one awesome looking knife BTW!

    RTT on a full-size van?

I can't be super helpful as I have never mounted one to my Van but I did have one on my Tacoma before getting the Van. On my Tacoma the base was mounted at chin level for me (around 6'2") to help keep it out of the wind. My biggest complaint with the tent was having to get on my tip toes to zip...

Hacking into Factory Over Rear Lights?

I will look into that. May be too advanced for my simple electrical ability. Never use the factor lights as is. The center bulb is even removed because I don't want the lights coming on every time I open the door. Not sure if I would need them to stay connected to the starting battery.

    Tubs: My 2004 E350 Build

We have delayed on our long adventure until next year. I have a Tacoma that I am cleaning up to sell and it has taken up a lot of my Van time and money. We are also working on paying off all of our debt before we leave. Wasn't gonna be possible to do before it got too late in the season this...

Hacking into Factory Over Rear Lights?

Sorry to start a new thread but wasn't having any luck when I asked in my pitiful build thread. I have an 03 E350 passenger van that has three sets of factory overhead interior lights. Planning out my house battery and all of my electrical stuff and got to the lights. I want to be able to use...

    Looking at vans, opinions wanted.

Not sure if you are interested in a drive and what your budget is but there is a 2014 RB with a 5.4 and 7k miles for sale right now in the For Sale section of this forum. Van is in Portland, OR. $25k. Several grand more than the two you are looking at but a ton less miles. Looks like he has done...

Pics of your VAN! Post up!

Sweet beginnings you have there! Does that roof rack happen to have a company name on it? Planned in trying to make my own but if I could find one like that for cheap on CL then I can save a lot of time!

    Looking at vans, opinions wanted.

I bought a 5.4 because it was the cleanest one I could find in my price range at the time. Would have bought a V10 if one was available. I really enjoy the power of the 5.4 after coming from a 3.4 Tacoma. Not upset at all with the purchase. That being the case I think the V10 will be the...

    Homemade faucet/sink setups?

Bought the whale pump that Trailscape linked to. Got overseas pretty quickly. Now just waiting in time and money to buy the faucet. Those look very viable as well.

    Tubs: My 2004 E350 Build

Decided that the fancy lift will have to wait as I bought an "accessory" for the van that will give me more smiles! Lol Still want to add stiffer springs, shocks, and add a leaf to give me some height for some AT tires and a better ride.

    Tubs: My 2004 E350 Build

Still have several things planned in the near future including a Maxxair roof vent some overhead lights. Anyone know if it is possible to hack into the factory rear overhead lights? As is they shut off after 10 mins or so and won't turn back on unless I open the door.

    Tubs: My 2004 E350 Build

About done with the bed platform. It is made of out 1" square tubing and made tall enough for the lugaloo and my chuckbox to slide under. Need to clean up welds and paint the frame. Then carpet the wood bed bases sections. Right now I have a twin mattress that rest in top but plan on buying...

Then put the Raamat and reflectix in the walls and doors. Then put down a plywood floor with wood flooring look vinyl flooring. I plan on adding more insulation when I can buy a roll of poly insulation.

Haven't posted in a while... Took the seats, seat belts, and carpet out. Cleaned up a couple of rusts spots and then laid down some Raamat, foam, and mass loaded vinyl. Also installed a passenger side seat swivel.

Post Van Parts For Sale Here please

May be in wrong place but I am trying to determine if there is any value in the bench seats that came out of my 04 passenger van? It would be the most forward 3 person seat and the rear 4 person seat. Brackets and seat belts would be included. Based on eBay prices they either sell like gold...
