Cool, So basically all the same suspension mods would work on one then. It opens up the field in terms of looking for one since it seems i see the odd compass going for a bit cheaper then the Patriots in my area.
Good to know and hear as such from a fellow canadian!
Thanks for the Link! After burning through many of the cheap Duracell plug in 2 amp chargers it makes more sense for me to buy the more expensive Blue Sea part. I keep seeing Blue sea mentioned a lot when it comes to parts for these expo builds.
The 4L80 would def be a good upgrade behind that beast. Def going to keep tabs on this project to come up with ideas for my eventual Burb build. Probably won't be starting that till next year after i get out of school. But that gives me plenty of time to observe various builds and come up with a...
Nice Evo! There was one running around here in Lloyd for a couple years. Didn't realize what it was till i looked it up one day. Would love to get my hands on a Pajero one day...but an Evo..well that is a dream that probably will never occur.
Hmmm Just finished reading this thread and well it def has me thinking of a Patriot again. I almost bought one back when i bought my Trailblazer in '12 but it was a basic 2wd for the same money i got the TB for. I have driven a couple of them now one was an auto with the CVT and the other had...
Awesome build so far, I'm guessing you are planning on running an adapter plate to mate the Chevy trans to the Caddys BOP style bell housing pattern? There was one company out there that builds TBIs that flow more cfm then the Qjet you were planning on using. I will need to search up the link...
Great build so far, Where did you find the USB plugs? I am seriously considering replacing the two lighter sockets in my Chevy C10 with some dedicated USB sockets.
Correction on the Astro i was looking at. It is a 1999 with a G80 rear diff in it. However the engine doesnt sound all that healthy so i am probably going to pass on it and focus on my 1980 Chevy G20 to build a 2wd expo van. It already runs on 235/75R15 tires so that side of things is already...
So...there is a slight chance I may be picking up another Astro in the spring from an old friend. I believe its a '98. Either way its the same generation as this one. Plus the biggest bonus is that it is an awd. This one has a rebuilt rear diff with the G80 limited slip in it so if the gear...
Nice upgrades! Could always stay dual alt to support any additional electrical add ons to the truck later on. Or perhaps use it to keep a "house" bank of batteries charged for additional electronics
Finally all caught up! I'm glad to see that you are staying with the old Detroit and once you swap in the 4L80E and Banks turbo it will be a much more enjoyable rig to drive. Might I suggest looking at a USAShift or TCI transmission controller for the trans swap. Also one thing you will need to...
