Went up to Elk Lake area yesterday, snowshoed last 2 miles up to the intersection, but than it just got too deep, even with snowshoes, I was falling through almost to my waist. Sometimes I guess its just too deep... LOL

I can only agree partially, about 110% with you... LOL This sort of thing is my "natural" antidepressant... :)

I'll have to venture up that road on my snowcat, seems like it would be a worthwhile trip may be to visit Opal lake in the winter.

roof rack - side mount Not sure if I'll answer any questions... and rather create new ones, but hopefully this gives you any idea... This is the biggest RTT that CVT sells (in Bend, Oregon), I believe its the Rainier model, so it runs (folded) completely over the roof of the XJ (lengthwise)...

p.p.s. I've figured may be its possible to just keep a LIVE thread going for all of my trips, now if anything is IMPROPER by the site rules, feel free to let me know, and I'll adjust... With the snow season on the roll... Let get some snow trips going... This is last weekends test run...

What a better way to let go of the old year? Snowshoe, snowcamp, snowsleep & ice fish... Especially when snowlevels are low, and temps are moderate with awesome amount of snowfall. Awesome views... Great memories... Time well spend with a brother... more photos to be found on my...

its definitely a great area to be in when snow levels are low, and everything is just plain white like this...

Yes, its a gorgeous area of the Cascades. Seems like not to easy to access in the winter unless you got some sort of snow equipment (snowmobile or a cat)
