I can split rims on my HZJ75 from 12 years never had too many problems running tubless tyres(tires) with rust bands and tubed.

Keep your tank/s full and add sum additive like Chemtech Diesel Power when not using your truck for a while, change your filter/s offen, drain and clean water trap , and if you have a lift pump don't forget the little gauze on the inlet.

Hi we did Cape York 2013 we are 2.8m high 2.2m wide we did most of the Tele track but we did turn off back on to the Development Road after SAMs creek because our length of truck with the bike trailer we would of not made it around a few of the tight creeks turns.

We only use 4wd a few times a year in our Canter but it is those times that you need it to find the better camp spots .
We did Cape a York last year and yes you could have done it with a 2wd but you may not be able to get into sum of the great camp spots or places.
