    first aid storage

Mine is similar to the MEC one above, but I got it at REI on sale and with my annual dividends. I augmented it with more things that I normally use or think I would need, like a suture, needle for stitching, thread, antiseptic, etc. I store the Kit in my African Outback Drawer system so it...

Rugged Guide - Dynamic Rope Video

Definitely agree, not a good idea to use the ball hitch even if it is a permanent one. It just was never designed for this type of use! Otherwise a good demonstration of the two types of tow ropes. :costumed-smiley-007

    Buyer & Seller Feedback

Perhaps a Wiki styled database where one searches for the user name/handle or item purchased/sold. We used to have a Wiki database of routes on the main ExPo page but that disappeared along with the trails submitted. Wonder why? but I digress...this might be a usable way to keep this info with...

    Actual temp decrease of tints

Tinting makes a bigger difference than you think to the interior heat of a vehicle. Why do you think some trucks come tinted direct from the factory, why to office towers tint their windows, why are the high end windows for homes tinted. YES it cuts down heat a lot! besides, you get the privacy...

    Mat for tent entrance?

Being a Glamper, I use one of those rug samples from a flooring store, they usually throw them out after the carpet is discontinued. I go mine for free when I went into a store and asked if they have any that they do not want. I get them in a neutral colour, speckled, light tan with dark brown...

Help - Looking for fire side chair warmer

Yes I did get one and it works great! The one draw back is that needs looking after so much and that one has to be prepared to move it and the chair as the smoke keeps after you. Also the rock ring should be quite low otherwise it blocks the heat closer to the ground.

    Yaesu FTM-350R

This 350 is only about $150 more than the high end Yaesu and you get so much more with the 350. Integrated GPS, APRS, Bluetooth, navigation, texting, etc. I think with a group buy the price will be somewhat lower for the 350 and then there is the optional gear.

Common 2m Repeater frequencies, et al.

I recently heard that pretty much all 2m repeaters in North America can be grouped in 65 frequencies. If this is so does anyone know them or where they are posted? Is there something similar for 70cm etc. and other bands? Reason I ask is, if one had these it would much easier to program and...

    Yaesu FTM-350R

Apparently a lot of the glitches mention in reviews here and elsewhere have been address with software upgrades found on Yaesu's site of this unit under the files tab. Features: 50W 2m/70cm; 220 MHz 1W (USA Version) flexible HUGE Dual Band Display - set your own individual preference for Dual...

    CBI Bumper

I think, if more people with 80s and 100s would order rear or front bumpers, sliders etc., then they would make a jig for each so they wouldn't have to keep your truck for a few days. Also, they are very proficient at making gear for 4Runners and Tacos as well as Jeeps.:costumed-smiley-007

Wait time is 10 weeks or less, give them a call and get in line. Quality is worth waiting for.

    Trail Outfitters FJ60 Restoration

VERY NICE restoration! Beautiful details! Too bad you don't have a diesel (1HZ-T would be prefect) to put in her. Perhaps customer wants it back to stock though. Great work!:costumed-smiley-007

    Snorkel Questions

I have had my rig under water to about 6 inches up my windows with no problems! Snorkelled of course and had a good wake in front of the rig.

    Snorkel Questions

Sorry guys, but I too am having a bit of a time getting my brain around this install into the air box. :coffee: They are called breathers for a reason....to breath...that is back and forth easily as the diffs, et al. heat up to let hot air out so fluid can expand and then more air in as they...

    CB install

As per Google maps, it is ~8 miles and pretty flat as well, which is still a long way for CBs. Definitely not the norm. Lucky I guess! :costumed-smiley-007

Hi, Next time you want some company for Baja or mainland MX let me know, I want to winter there this year if I can. I have been to MX quite a few times and always looking for company. Also have done Barrancas Del Cobre once and want to try a few other routes while there again. I have some...
