Not concerned thanks
However, when I air down, I will keep the speeds low. At my age, i'm fine if the trip takes longer.
Since the articulation is still of concern to me, more so because of the cab over bed. I'm going to avoid those deeper ruts.
Ground clearance is a big part of off-road...
Thanks i'll be underweight . The rating on the rear is 3970 lbs a tire. So 7940 lbs on the rear. By manufacturers spec.
Currently I'm at 1800 kgs with the habitat "dry" - this is according to manufacturer
A tire marked "128Q" has a load index of 128, meaning it can support a maximum load of...
Security installations
What do other folks do?
I have a few plans. Yet I want to do more
Risks
Bad people
Rig theft
Rig items small theft
Wild animal damage
BTW, gearing is matched to the OEM rear axle. Both Diesel and Gas are different. And the NPR HD is different than the NRR to my knowledge
Bolt pattern on all fours is stock Isuzu
I'm about 90% done
Were building the subframe now. I prebuilt all six spring mounts. When it sits on the truck frame we will be done by days end.
Wish I knew how to lift the habitat on the truck frame without a crane.
Early in the thread i was going to do this with a California shop. Using both f450 axles. When adding up the prices, labor ect. It was cheaper, but not by much. And the risk of issues along the way obvious. I liked the warranty.
With all of our rigs, many options are available. I choose to...
Not mine or made by this company
That model has a Australian layout and mine is USA layout
This model is a full two feet higher off the ground than mine
More designed for a FUSO than a Isuzu frame
That model is not made for subframe mounting, rather flatbed
The truck cab clearance is much too...
Now that I continue to plan the last items on the habitat, I think about what I would do differently if I did this again. Nothing is ever perfect and there is always compromises.
I worked hard to get the total height as low as possible and still sleep above the cab. The total length is about...
To support more weight than surface bonding a alternative is possible. A welded fabrication off the subframe as a basis (or floor) to mount the bottom of the ladder could be scoped.
I am not a DIY builder and therefor there are limitations to what I can preplan for. We did a great job on the floor and a layer of frames for a superior subframe attachment.
No modification to the internal panel construction was available. I could guess the composite panels were purchased by...
Aluminum 2 3/4" thick platform
$109 was a great price for 24 x 36
For strength and attachment to the slides, I boxed it in with a steel 2x2 x 1/8 angle iron frame.
I found a aluminum plate 24 x 36 with FRP total thickness of 1/8 for a top
