It's ALIVE!
Maiden voyage today. Took the trailer for a spin in the mountains today. Just asphalt, no dirt.
Tows fantastic. Brakes are ok, I will adjust the brakes tomorrow. I like very good brakes.
The springs are a little too soft. I think I will first try adding an ad-a-leaf, over load...
What a nice size. I think you scored. I would like to see interior pics.
Any idea what it weighs?
Try this: http://www.allmetalsinc.com/steelperforatedsquaretube.html
Maybe we could find a square tube to extend the stabilizers there. A little welding and presto!
Jeff
And just for good measure, you might want to take a picture of the wife in the trailer with a big smile on her face so we know your telling the truth!:hehe:
Jeff
Ok, so the pics from the craig's list listing are gone. So if you don't get your buns out there and take some pics of your new toy, we will all have to believe that maybe your telling a bold faced lie. And we would never want to think that of you this early in your forum career.
What type of...

You may have to call them. It's called 2" and 2 1/4" 12 GA. Perf Galv tube.
You may want to Google it. There may be better suppliers.
Make sure you remove all of the galvanization before you weld on it.
Jeff
Or try this...
The RV door lock came from here: http://www.pplmotorhomes.com/parts/rv-locks/trimark-lock-rv.htm
One word of caution is that they don't come with any instructions. Just take your time and make templates and measure three times.
This picture is of the outside. The plate behind the handle is to...
So far it is looking like they will suit different needs at different times. The trailer will be for a base camp style of camping and then use the truck for excursions.
And well, you know what I use the FWC for! I think Vic will like the trailer more than the FWC.
Jeff
A stabilizing situation
When I changed the suspension and axel out, the increase in height meant that the stabilizers that came on the trailer were too short and useless.
So I fitted perforated channels through the side steps, welded to the steps and fitted and bolted side plates through the...
To truly get this question answered by professionals, I would suggest that you contact the very nice people @ All-Pro off road in Hemet.
Sometimes little statements are missed or are misconstrued in a forum.
In my case, I wanted everything to be the same, the wheels, tires and lug nuts. I even...
First, if you are buying a new Chaser, you should be talking to Mario or Martyn.
You will not believe what these guys will do for you.
If you are buying a used Chaser, you will need spacers/adaptors anyways to run most of the Tacoma wheels. Depends on what year the wheels are from.
You see, the...
50 mph. Thats pretty good. I have been in mine out in our high desert when I thought it was going to flip the entire truck. Don't know how fast the wind was though.
You should be inside one in the wind. Really not that bad because the sides are stretched so tight.
Now, wait til your in a hail...
Why don't you let me help you pay for some of those R&D costs.
I would pay big bucks for this off road only gas tank that would never be used on the highways of California.
I would sign anything and pay big bucks.
I share your pain my friend.
Kudos to your drive to make you rig better.
Will you...
I wound up with a little more than 1"
It is hard to answer the question for you because it will depend on how tall you tire is vs. how much travel your suspension has.
Jeff
AWESOME!
I am proud of you DUDE! I really like how you are making this camper yours.
It's a great feeling isn't it. I like your ideas.
Your camper looks so hugh inside.
About the exterior light. Recently when I camped with a group, I thought the light was going to be a nuisance to everyone...
In goes the shower.
Ah hot water!
This is the one thing I am really looking forward to. I don't have hot water in the FWC.
If you haven't seen these before, they come from Europe and are imported and sold by Adventure trailers.
I haven't figured out how to take it apart yet, but I will. I want...
Door hold open
So maybe this will bring it all together.
This is the pin that fits into a tube I welded into the wing/step.
Looking from the other side of the door.
