I picked up a 20 inch led light bar and got it installed. What a difference it makes at night. Definitely brighter than the old Hellas. I also got a swing out tire carrier off of a Bronco II. Probably need to do some modifications for it to work. But for 20.00 I can't complain. Here's a couple pics.

Gives me a place for the spare or for the second one once I pick it up. Here's a couple pics of it.The carrier fits good w the...

A quick update on the Kota. I got my second battery installed in the rear bed. I also acquired a rack from some scrap metal at work. I cleaned it up and put a couple coats of Rustoleum flat black paint. It holds 1 5-gallon and 1 6-gallon water can and a 2 and 5 gallon fuel can. It attaches to...

My 92 Dakota back country rig build

Just a quick update. Have made a few improvements/upgrades. I upgraded the 55 watt bulbs in my Hellas to the 100 watt bulbs. I swapped out the rear halogen spot light for a 1200 lumens led. What a difference it makes. I also picked up an AGM battery with both top and side mount from work. Its...

My 92 Dakota back country rig build

Thanks for all the kind words. I've kept the cost of the build at a minimum. I just started working at O'reilly's auto parts. Will be training for management soon. So I get a decent discount on parts. Needless to say I'm making a list of upgrades for the Dak. Stay tuned.

Lets see some "set up" Regular Camper shells

And here are some updated pics. I picked up for free some of the interlocking 1 inch thick hd foam padding. I had a couple pieces left over so I cut to size for a seat pad for the tailgate. I have a complete build up of the truck over in the domestic rigs section. Here's a quick shot of the rig.

Lets see some "set up" Regular Camper shells

Here's my current set up for my Dakota. I have a ARE high rise l contractors camper shell that I picked up on my local Craigslist for 50.00. Due to having the high rise roof it's given me great storage for lighter items. The shell also has a roof rack.

My 92 Dakota back country rig build

I found a ladder in the scrap metal bin where I work. I figured it would work for access to the roof rack. Got it put on today. I need to find a better way to attach it to the shell. I also found some of that 1 inch interlocking foam padding. Work good for the sleeping platform. I also used 2...
