I know i was goin to try to stay away from another Optima but Mtnclimber whose a forum member and lives fairly local to me had a yellow top. We worked out a deal and now the zjs back up and mission capable. So far so good.
So it looks like i am replacing my 2nd Optima red top battery in the last 3 years. I dont think ill be getting another one. So im looking for a decent replacement. Any suggestions?
Nice xj man. Makes me really miss mine. Nice budget mods. Ive built my zj grandy on a budget as well. I see your Marine Corps sticker. Thanks for your service. Us vets seem to have great ideas for our builds. Again nice build and i plan to follow it.
Nice trip report. My wife and i were up there last weekend over to Austin Pond. Unfortunately no pics. We spend alot of time up in the Bingham to Jackman area. Its my second home. The Deadwater road up through to Moxie/Forks is a nice trip. Did it back in April when there was still ice on the...
Thanks alot. Its come along ways in the last year. The zj works really well for my family and i and is great in the back country. Granted its not as built as most rigs on here but ive done it on a budget and learned alot in the process. Its my first true dual purpose rig build.
Just an update. Im still slowly workin on the zj like always. The new exhaust i installed is serving me well and sounds great. Power is better too. Stay tuned.
There are plenty of zj builds on here with some great ideas. I have mine in the Jeep section here under My 96 zj expo rig. I built a custom rear storage area and a homebuilt flat roof rack that work great for me.
Heres my 1960s era Eureka drawtite tent. Is in great shape for the age and we used this past weekend in 3 days of rain and strong winds with no probs. Ok im havin trouble loadin pics. There are some over in the camping gear section.
Used the tent this weekend and it held up to heavy rain and strong winds. No leaks after 4 days. Pretty impressive for a 50yr old tent. I did put a tarp over it just in case.
So the kids and i went on our first spring trip. Were hoping to do some fishing but the lakes and streams were still frozen over. This was the 3rd weekend in April so there was still snow on the ground in our campsite. Covered about 120 miles in 3 days all offroad exploring and saw some moose...
I got the 12 volt battery and electrical system along with the water pump installed yesterday. The pump works well and i ran a water line out the curb side of the trailer where my camp kitchen sets up at. Will get pics up next week as im finishing up prepping for the long weekend trip.
