    w0mps WJ Build Thread

I love it!!! Nice to see another WJ. I have a few questions. 1- How do you like the ride with the 4 inch lift and the adjustable IRO arms? 2- The Kelty tent you have, is it the inflatable one? If so, do you pictures? 3- The Action Packers look really close to the roof, how do you get them...

Overland The Third. ARB WJ inside!

I had some time to re-install my awning this evening. I made it work with some 90 degree metal bracket from Home Depot for now. Eventually I would like to get some proper T shaped brackets welded so it's a stronger install.

    98 XJ New Adventurer Build

I've got the same compressor and it's great. I agree with not mounting it in the cab since it does get loud. Most of the time I go offroading or camping with the kids and my 6 year old tends to fall asleep at some point, the compressor would sure wake him up. Plus if you ever added air lockers...

Overland The Third. ARB WJ inside!

Sweet! That's the exact line from the movie I had in mind when I purchased the license plate for my Jeep. :smiley_drive:

Overland The Third. ARB WJ inside!

Had a bit of time today so I installed my 6 inch light bar between the IPF lights until I get a winch. Also installed the ARB supplied license plate bracket. Let's see how many of you guys can remember this plate. Rugged Ridge window visors: I'll take some pictures of the lights...

Overland The Third. ARB WJ inside!

Took the tires out for the first time today. Really impressed on how they performed. We had 2 stock JK Rubicons with us and I had an easier time getting up the trail than they did. I'm sure it's due the me knowing the trails and having more seat time in my Jeep. They also didn't use their...

Lifting WJ without sacrificing much towing ability.

Yes it is. I actually only got 2.5 inches out of it since I have the bumper and a bunch of stuff in it. I'm really pleased with the tires so far. I haven't had time to give them a try offroad yet but I will soon. No issues towing at all.

Lifting WJ without sacrificing much towing ability.

I ordered my OME HD and Bilsteins from Kolak as well. I'm really happy with the setup. I'm running General Grabbers AT2 right now in a 265-70-17 (32"). Slight rubbing in the front of the wheels behind the front bumper. It's better since I installed the ARB bumper. I would highly recommend this...

Any decent priced light weight winches out there? how about using a 6k winch?

If most of the wheeling you do is dry, just get a basic winch, you won't have to worry about the solenoid crapping out from corrosion. I believe you can buy Smittybilt and the likes with synthetic cable for under $500. I would just bypass the 5k winches, not because they're not adequate enough...

Overland The Third. ARB WJ inside!

Haven't had a chance to take the AT2 offroad yet. Not too sure how they'll perform. I'm hoping they are equal to the BFG TA/KO I had on both the R50 and 4Runner. If they are I'll be really happy. Got a few things on the way but I'll try to pace myself. :rappel:

Any decent priced light weight winches out there? how about using a 6k winch?

I have a friend running the TJM 9k and it does really good. I would definitely run something 8k and above on your R50. You definitely won't notice the winch weight on the front.

Viking Offroad Going Out of Business?

Is it still? I thought it was getting better. When you hear of companies like Shrockworks and BudBuilt taking 6 to 9 months to fill orders you'd think that a company like Viking would be sustainable. I've seen lots of smaller companies fail over the years and it's usually due to them spending...

Overland The Third. ARB WJ inside!

Went on a small day trip to Bar U ranch yesterday. Pretty nice place. Lots of history for those interested. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bar_U_Ranch New tires were nice and quiet. The only complain I would have at this point is how stiff they are. It's most likely due to them being load range...

Overland The Third. ARB WJ inside!

Kind of an unplanned update. I was given the opportunity to test out some new tires. I installed a set of new General Grabber AT2 on my stock wheels (with the tire sensors I really missed). Size is 265-70-17 in load range E. They're also rated for severe winter conditions. Pretty happy with...

Overland The Third. ARB WJ inside!

The interior of the WJ is pretty similar in size to to R50. The 4Runner has a bit more room but the wheel wells are sticking out and up further. I haven't tried sleeping in the other truck, only the WJ. As for the tires, the KM seems to handle it's own on wet streets and heavy rain. I haven't...
