I think if you come back you won't want to go back to the jeep. I would get a v6 for sure. That build sheet should get you going nicely. I have the front runner rack and love it's build quality and versatility. I would add a factory rear elocker and call it good. I say v6 because it's two wheel...
You won't really notice a difference due to size (going from 265/65 to 265/70). You will notice a difference from what load range you choose.

Landcruiser is the platform that Toyota developed atrac and crawl control. In fact, most Toyota 4x4's post 2006 come standard with it.

Here's a few from my trip on the rubicon. This was part of a 5,000 mile trip that started in the Texas hill country and led me on up through carson national forest to the alpine loop, uncompahgre national forest, San jaun national forest, valley of the gods, monument valley, mojave, Joshua tree...
Body mount chop is not needed until 315 or larger. I have 285/75/16 with scs f5's that are 3.50 backspace. Personally I think it's the best set up. Minimal added leverage on the bearings due to the wheels design. Spacers will give you way more if that lever effect. Plus you're adding six...
The fifth Gen still has a 1gr. Only it's a dual vvti rather than single. And it's not bs. My wife's truck is stock (06 1gr) and it gets a constant 23mpg, hand calculated. My bosses 5th Gen with the dual vvti 1gr gets 21, and he drives like a grampa. On mine I've got 200+lbs of armor and 33"s and...
4th Gen all the way. With a set of long tube headers and a decent intske it makes more power than the 5th, especially with the v8. Plus it's at least 400lbs lighter than the fifth Gen (depending on trim). Parts are cheaper, the truck itself is cheaper. They get better fuel mileage. The list goes...
Stolen from the 3rd Gen post. Mods please delete if I failed at searching and this thread already exists
Since we don't have our own section like the cruiser guys I'm gonna steal this idea and use it here. (Maybe other truck styles will too...):costumed-smiley-007<br />

No worries man, from what I hear they are worth the wait. I'm designing an all stainless tube cold air intake/snorkel. Can you give me rough dimensions and locations so I have an idea of where to put my filter box?

Think of it this way, the gx is a Prado with Lexus badges. So, the aftermarket is plentiful. BUT sourcing those parts may be a challenge. Where the 4th Gen has an ever growing aftermarket.

Ome is stiff. On everything I've ridden in. My wife's truck has Ome and I can't stand it. The shocks have no rebound control and their compression is abismal at best.
My truck on the other hand has iron man foam cell and icon 2.0's and in comparison mine is buttery smooth over stuff that my...
