I took mine out. The novelty wore out and the small things here and there really started to annoy me.
The straw that broke the camels back though was the volume knob intermittently stopped working.
Put a Pioneer AVX5800 in and couldn't be happier. The sound is night and day in quality and...
If a old trip report is reused, how does it work with this as a guideline:
"showing proof with a picture of you with a Cooper Discoverer flag (link to download provided on expeditionportal.com) at a designated point along the route of the epic adventure trip."
I'm also noticing a lot of the...
As we got to Boron, not a single trespassing sign, gate, fence or barrier blocked a way in. If there were, we'd have continued past and called it a day. But the facility seemed open and we proceeded with caution. There is a still active radar on site, but we steered clear and explored the...
About the time we left the Pinnacles, the wind began to pick back up. It seemed we would have a repeat of the previous night and decided it would be in our best interest to spend the remainder of the day seeking a prime wind barrier. We continued north to form a loop around the Pinnacles and...
Once on the other side of Cuddeback Dry Lake, a series of trails would lead us in between the Red and Lava Mountains and take us into the Ridgecrest BLM area.
Many spur trails branched off from the pipeline road that guided us towards Ridgecrest and the Spanglers Hills area...
Three weekends in a row? Why not? Death Valley, Tierra Del Sol and now a trip to the Trona Pinnacles.
With only a week to plan this one out, it felt a bit thrown together. Usually our trips are pieced together over the course of a few weeks or sometimes months depending on where we're going...
Thanks! I'd be bummed too, it's a great area. Hope you ended up getting a chance!
Appreciate it! Thanks for reading.
Thank you. We love our Tepui's too. They've served us well and haven't had any issues throughout all they've been through.
Thanks. Definitely fortunate to live out this way...
Haven't got to use it on a trip yet, but been using every day at the house. So far so good.
Takes 1500 watts to run, so it falls in place with your typical coffee maker. My 2000 watt inverter doesn't seem to have any problem brewing cup after cup as long as the vehicle is running.
Quality...

So, our camp chiefs (girlfriends) have been asking for a better working water system. After pricing out different options and trying to piece together parts, I found this bad boy on Amazon. Designed for a 5 gallon water bottle, it works perfect on the FrontRunner jerry can. 28 bucks for a push...
Finally over the last obstacle and around the following turn, the Eureka Dunes come into view. The second tallest in North America. In a way, this trip was created to see them. Months of research, planning, preparation and a few days of execution paid off. After seeing them from afar, it was...
Once at the top of Steele Pass, the trail immediately starts it's decent towards Deckerea Canyon and Eureka Valley.

Deckerea Canyon is what separates Saline Valley from the Eureka Valley. Steep and sharp rock walls form on each side...
Donkeys, Saline Valley's equivalent of the Yosemite bear. Patient and sneaky, quietly waiting for the opportune moment to mosey into camp and help themselves to whatever food isn't locked away. That moment was about 2 a.m. Out of all the things we planned and prepared for, having our breakfast...
