OEV just posted on their IG that they're going to make shell models available for essentially all their campers. Great news for the DIYers and those that want to save some money up front.
You're not wrong and I don't disagree with you...but read the tone of the thread. Dude ain't swapping trucks at this point, he said so himself. So the best advice would be to upgrade and modify the truck as best as possible to handle the camper.
The best and most economical BBK upgrade for the first gen Tundra is to do the GX460 brake conversion. You have to machine a bit off of the GX460 calipers but otherwise everything else fits. There a few FGT owners that can do professional machining of the GX calipers. I'd join the First Gen...
If you're knee replacement surgery is next month I'd honestly just get it built for you. You never know how your post op recovery will go and that piece of metal in your knee is a lot more expensive and valuable than the metal on the flatbed.
I mean at this point it's a done deal. He bought a brand new truck, modded it and has a build plan. The idea of checking payload on the doorjamb has sailed. No point in changing platforms now unless you want to lose $15k overnight on trading it in. Best you can do is upgrade to help the...
I'm allowed to have an opinion on a public forum. This isn't a private thread. If you want to play moderator somewhere go create a Facebook group limited to VO owners and those who have one on order. Otherwise I'm free to state my fact based opinion. The only thing I've said is that VO has a...
Both Snap! and Topo have a viable business model. VO is just a few dudes that sometimes build campers. Great product but seems like they had zero business sense. I remember when the wedge campers started to catch on both Snap! and VO were on the scene at the same time. Snap! definitely had...
I guess it makes a little more sense as to why Phil is selling his Tacoma now. Guess those lawyer fees are going to add up. Seems like this is going the way of Pelfreybilt.
I have a 6.5' TC from Bear coming. I wish I could have gone 8' but I have a very short driveway and an 8' with departure angle would stick way out into the sidewalk. I'd probably get a letter from the HOA. I'd say BEAR is killing it on the interior game and one of the main reasons I went with...
A different option but have you looked into the Radica Moonlander? It's a unique take on a camper top that allows you to keep COG low, have insulation and options for windows, and you can sleep in a east-west configuration. Yeah it sticks out to the side a bit but at least it keeps height down...
From the same company that makes this monstrosity...
https://www.motortrend.com/news/27north-ascender-30a-expedition-truck-2022-ford-f-250-super-duty/
So the funny thing is that TFL did a video on the Ascender at SEMA. Basically the sales associated knew basically NOTHING about the...
I don't have a camper from them but have been following their journey on IG from beginning. They interestingly started during the pandemic when a lot of companies were struggling with supply issues. Through it all they seemingly were able to keep afloat and crank out campers. For whatever...
Currently it sounds like all the HD trucks have some sort of issue. GM has some sort of lifter thing going on, sounds like the 7.3L godzilla has an issue, and RAMs with the 68RFE transmission have a dipstick recall out. My 2022 RAM 2500 with the Cummins has the recall and will hopefully get it...
