Project: modifying F350 front bumper for van

Initial testing done, should be a fairly straight modification to fit this F350 bumper onto a van body. No cutting required, just need to fab mount extension. (Post copied from my build thread...) Sent from my SM-G973W using Tapatalk

Starting on the front bumper this week. Initial testing done, it will be a fairly easy modification to fit this big F350 bumper onto the Hambo. No cutting required, just need to fab mount extension. Sent from my SM-G973W using Tapatalk

The Hurt Locker - 2003 E350 v7.3 Crestline Ambulance Build Thread

Welcome in the group! All I can say is you're going in the right direction by stripping it and getting rid of all the electrical that aren't needed. Save all your relays and wires, they'll come handy! A few of us with the same or similar ambos have done it all so don't be afraid to go look at...

My buddy Laurentiu already converted a few 6.0 and when done right they love veggie. He converted a truck with the 6.0 couple years ago for some pro-skiers that travel a bunch and their truck is still running strong. As for noise, I can't even tell the difference. My 7.3 was the same, diesel...

Today was an amazing day! I haven't posted for quite some time as a lot of what I'm doing is not glamorous, bunch of electronic and electrical stuff, (thanks Jay!) etc. But some of them are pretty cool and finally in operation. This little joystick is pretty sweet, it's basically 4 switches in...

After my very good discount at Lordco it came to $700! The loaded caliper was another $115 or so. I guess it's part of the game, it just that I could have bought another lithium battery for that price, argh! Sent from my SM-G973W using Tapatalk

    New 2006 Ford E450's w/wo ambulance box

I've had great success insulating them...(done 4+), just gotta cut the thermal barrier. I hope your project will pan out! I'm just afraid that people might still think of those as older vans even if they are technically new, especially with the end result price tag... Good luck, looking...

On a much less interesting update I finally drove the Hambo yesterday. It had been sitting for a few months while working on the interior. Turns out my front passenger caliper sized up on me. I tried to baby it back to fix it only to realize the new front bearings had also overheated. Couple...

Got most of the benches done. The front facing one is larger and doubles as extra storage behind the back rest which can also become a table. Both benches have the option to be angled back for more comfort (front of benches tilt up and angled back). I'll post pics of that feature soon. In bed...

Project: modifying F350 front bumper for van

Sure do! It was an ASFIR 4X4 bumper. I'm not sure which model I got (bought it as a clearance discount) but they aren't to expensive... here's a link and a close up picture of my old one. http://www.asfir.com/ford-F_350/599006 Sent from my SM-G973W using Tapatalk

Project: modifying F350 front bumper for van

Yes tough and heavy, should help with my stiff coils, lol. I think it weighs around 210lbs and can fit up to a 16.5 winch. It's laser cut, mixed of 1/4" & 3/16" A36 descaled steel then powder coated! Anyway, this is the one I found, I'm sure there's a few other decent options around (Iron...

Project: modifying F350 front bumper for van

There aren't many options for decent van's front bumpers. On my previous ambo I bought a F350 front bumper and made it fit to my van. I didn't have to modify too much aside from the mounting brackets. Had to shorten the ends so they wouldn't rub into the tires but that was pretty straight...

    HAMBO build thread

I was going to go with an ACR but it doesn't work well between lead acid and lithium batteries as their charging chemistry is too different. So I put my new ACR for sale and got the DC-DC charger instead, mainly to protect my alternators and to still be able to isolate the starting batteries...
