    Subframe fabricators in southwestern US?

I would probably try to make friends with your local race car fabrication shop. Take lots of pictures and they will get you sorted out. Have had terrible luck approaching traditional truck fitters as they are generally hacks and have trouble thinking outside the box. Allan

    Drivetrain whine - FG434 + Entertaining Pics

As stated before, drain fluids from all boxes/axles and inspect for bearing material. I found that my truck was significantly quieter after switching to Redline fully synthetic fluids in the appropriate weights(except the rear diff which I run conventional with lots of friction modifier for...

    Fuso FG 6 speed conversion?

Dan, So the third/fourth gear spacing is the same? Bummer. It would be interesting to put one in and effectively make it into a close ratio box by significantly lowering the axle ratios. Really just speculating as this would be ungodly $$$$. Allan

Looks like Fuso is throwing in the towel- at least on the FE

Somewhere on this forum is a thread I put together comparing all reported fuel economy. The gist was. With the exception of a few outliers(20k lb vehicles for example) everyone was getting about 13mpg. On a recent 10k mile trip in my 2000 FG on 37" tires in conjunction with a 2014...

    Fuso FG 6 speed conversion?

After living with my FG for some time, I must say the only real weakness of the truck is the gear ratios in the manual transmission. Some of the 2 wheel drive models have a six speed transmission. Has anyone investigated whether the six speed will mate to the 5 speed transfer case? Thank you...

1993 Fuso FG 4x4 for sale

Do you have an Idea of whether it is a normally aspirated or turbo diesel? Generally the turbo models get 13 mpg. Not sure about N/A though.

    Shaking at high speed

In my case it was bfg all terrain tires which were the problem. Running Goanna trax 17” steel wheels. I put the truck on 4 jack stands and ran it in 4x4. Wheels tested perfectly round but tires were 3/4 inch or more out of round. Sold off the tires and switched brands. Problem solved. Allan...

    FG's in Action

I ran into a lot of trouble with low ratings on bridges. I attempted to travel the TCAT (trans canada trail for motorcycles.) Had a ton of fun but was turned back on several occasions. If I had it to do over again I would spend more time in Nova Scotia and skip Laborador.

    FG's in Action

We've been on vacation from the Interwebs for a while and Fido has been on the move. Went to Newfoundland last year on a three month trip. This winter was spent exploring Arizona, New Mexico, and Southern California. Here are a few pics!

Mitsubishi Canter FG 83 Philippine version - is this good enough? Which option to take?

The new option should be awesome. The manual transmission and low range are key. In the US they now only have automatic and no low range making them somewhat less desireable. Allan

    Driving in Sand

I experimented significantly with pressures in Fido on a recent 10k mile trip. Running 37x12.5 17" tires. In VERY soft sand at highway pressure (50psi) the truck was having difficulty progressing-ie the engine will bog but the truck still moves ok in 2nd gear low range. Lower the...
