No worries, we understand that there are things way beyond your control and it really isn't camping season yet. Just keep teasing us with some under construction pics to keep us entertained. Little details of your design ideas are always fun to keep us distracted.
"I'm also far from the dinosaurs you see on this forum who insist a proper Land Rover has to be coil sprung and on an independent chassis."
Actually a proper Land Rover has leaf springs, a metal dash and no gearbox synchros on first or second - those later model pretenders with coil springs and...
I'm trying to use an android based Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 Active 8" tablet for my GPS running Gaia and think I'm getting real close to a working, highly accurate system.
This tablet has external power points that can be used with a cradle that has contacts that correspond to it. That would leave...
I've had several vehicles with heated screens and they are very nice when you come out to a frost covered vehicle in the morning. My 2003 Mini introduced me to the benefits of heated seats but true decadence is the heated steering wheel (and heated AND cooled seats) in the new Defender.
My LR3...
I'm interested in a wide oak in Green with the leg extensions. I'm 6'0" - 180 lbs and the standard size was a little too snug for my tastes when I tried out a friends Kermit - I like to sprawl out a bit and I think the extra two inch width would be just right.
I'd recommend a hard shell tent and probably a clamshell style for ease of deployment/packing. Take a good look at the Terrapod roof tent. It's a new tent that is on the market and I've got one on order. It's very low profile (under six inches tall), light and it has an optional roof rack for...
Since I've jumped in on Chad's Kickstarter campaign to purchase a new Terrapod roof tent I guess I'll need to sell my trusty Maggiolina Adventure roof tent that I bought back in 2010.
Its been a great tent, warm, dry and comfortable but the new Terrapod Solo that I have on order (my wife would...
I bought one of the Joolco shower tents to replace my Pahaque tent that was sort of a pain to set up.
The Joolco is a quick set up tent that was only $125 and I can use it with my small camping trailer as well as with my roof tent and awning mounted on the Defender.
Its nice to have some...
I imagine that ASPW really wants is something like the Ineos Granadier - unfortunately a certain amount of electronics is a requirement for any vehicle to be sold in today's world due to regulations.
I would be a potential Ineos customer but I'm not confident that it will ever be sold in the...
I saw those and it looks very impressive - I have a Bus Depot awning that is similar (Except the top bows are under the tent canopy) that I use on my Eriba travel trailer.
It works very well and has withstood some pretty heavy wind gusts - properly staked down of course. I'll be interested in...
True mass production AWD as pioneered by the 1970 Range Rover (although the Jensen Interceptor FF - for Ferguson Four wheel drive system predated it by a few years) was a huge step forward in road safety in all conditions. On rain slick roads or even paved roads with a coating of dust or leaves...
No the D300 gets torque on demand, other models get front axle disconnect from what I see in the 21MY diagrams. In both models there is a drive disconnect clutch in the right front axle which whispers future weak point to me.
That sucks - one of the main reasons I've been driving modern Land Rovers for the last thirty years is the full time awd system. In heavy rain I like the feel of having traction at both axles. That makes me especially glad I've got a 2020 version. If I want rear wheel drive I'll drive one of my...
Yeah but shipping would be a problem. $75 to local buyer - I need to buy a smaller one (like the one I sold with one of my previous trailers so I could keep this one). Its about 16 x 15 x 16 and hasn't been used. You can get them from Walmart.
