I often am looking for 1st gear low range so I am all ready at the bottom of the gear selection. And yes often running in low range on tracks and gravel roads.

Tyre pressure was 45psi front and 55 in the rear ( there will be more why in my trip report ). The place of this sand crossing is at the bottom of the hill at Maytown.

No , not a mark on them other than a lot of dust. Didn't really spin on them. Weight on the rear axle weighed on the way up :- 2.88 tonnes ( 6,349 lbs )

Well the day is here. My sister (Candy) turned up this afternoon and we are of to Townsville tomorrow and will be leaving there on Monday the 10th to head to the top. All going well we will do a trip report in 5 or 6 weeks.

Myself, I'm of the opinion that there is something else going on. Do the wheels spin true on the vehicle when it is jacked up.

Not absolutely sure but yes I believe in the same time frame. I knew of two others that were in use at the same time as my brother's on pineapple farms used for hauling one ton pine bins around. These were in the area south of Gympie so there may have been even more in the Nambour area.
