    EarthRoamer XV-JP "Northwest Edition"

Copper, are you serious? That is so cool and I would have never thought of it as something that would go in a vehicle build but it really fits with the teak & zebrawood. Not to mention over time it will just get better looking. Cost wise how does it compare to stainless? Will it wear well as...

    EarthRoamer XV-JP "Northwest Edition"

that is a great bit of info...thanks Paul of course now I not only have to think about how bad my woodworking skills are but also realize I shouldn't be trusted to figure out which way to point the wood :) By the way Paul I followed your Sprinter links to your site and I really like the way...

Is 70cm worth the extra cost over 2M only?

I would say no for now... for your first radio just get the 2m and enjoy it...get to where you are comfy on ham repeaters and down the road you can always sell it and upgrade.

    New guy from AZ

Don't worry about more mods... there is so much to do here in the southwest that is fine in a bone stock rig that you will be looking at inside things long before you need outside mods :) Ghost towns, mine ruins, cool hidden canyons and trails....just keep searching the trip reports from other...

If you pm me your email adrs I can send you google earth files or gps files in another format so you can double check things per your setup... But that said, we fueled up in Lake Havasu and didn't fuel again until Parker...getting 10mpg or so with a 21 gal tank....pretty much any rig can beat...

ExPo Project: 1991 Land Cruiser Prado SX (LJ78)

I figured I would add some links that were very helpful to me with my Troopy...this way it is a resource for any one else that comes along. Of course as much as I love Expo the 70 series section of ih8mud.com is super helpful...even a bunch of the Oz guys go there :)...

    Overland Journal: Discovery I, 5-speed

So was this packed up for 1 person? I am often jealous of solo travelers or even 2 person setups as there is soooo much more space. But when you make it a family of 3 that includes a child the gear list grows in a huge way. Also weather plays a huge role in the packing list. Clean setup and...

    EarthRoamer XV-JP "Northwest Edition"

Very nice.... A question though.. Other than very cool looks is there a reason to do drawer faces? I would think your corner joints would be plenty strong and work well as the face. For you it doesn't seem like too much more hard work to make these amazing faces but for someone like me that...

    Build your own camp table.

I gotta say that cargo deck table is one of the best ideas I have seen around here. Dual purpose is great and you get more bang for your buck. Can I steal that idea on my buid?

Two old Suburbans go mine hunting

Dang Nick, those are some great pics...I was on the trip and it looks better in your pics than it did when we were there :) And all the peep roasting credit goes out to Waymon - TexGX as he is the one that showed me how good a marshmellow Peep is when fire bathed. Looking forward to the rest...

Two old Suburbans go mine hunting

Well I tell ya keeping the dust out is an issue on many rigs...my previous $112,000 Sportsmobile had trouble with the rear doors and dust. On the rear I will be taking a close look at the body & gate/hatch shapes and then making a run over to Space Age in Mesa as they have the best collection...
