Ok I timed the transfer of 5 gallons of fuel today... 9 minutes. The pump and lines are pretty small so I’m sure that could have something to do with it. On another note, the pump is loud, you will hear it running, one is mounted to the underside of my bed near the factory fuel filler.
Are you sure on that rating? If I remember correctly ram is or was the only manufacturer to adopt sae load standards instead of their own in house ratings. I just read ram with the cummins has the highest tow rating out of the big three. The duramax is a great engine and tows awesome, even...
I think the speed is normal. My friend has an in bed tank and it transfers about the same rate he said. For me it’s just extra fuel so on trips I don’t need or search for a place to stop for diesel or if I don’t want to stop I don’t have to.
There’s no figures out and no prices out yet. If I were to buy a ford 250 or 350 next year I would get the 6.2. Personally I would wait for the 7.3 to be out for a bit before I get it, as with any new engine design I would not get the first release.
I’ve known don since 2001, if he builds it, it will work perfectly. This is a great option since EXP1 does not build a functioning bumper and their customer service is horrible (see many threads on this forum).
They have for years on all their trucks, I personally think it’s because of simplicity, they have one set up or basic design used on all trucks, obviously HD trucks have some different parts. Ride quality... for and ram with solid front axles ride better, handle better and are better in off...
He doesn’t sell a cad delete, I’ve seen one, you can do it. Look at dies power products, they build a Dodge Ram for the ultimate adventure, if I remember right they did a cad delete. I’ll look also and see if I can find one for you.
My opinion would be what ever makes the most power and has the best fuel economy, or a good ratio of both. Being ford has not released the power numbers for the 7.3, I don’t think this question can be answered adequately yet.
Be careful if you go to shops for oil changes, many including my dealer do not grease the drive shift when doing oil changes.
If your worried about your rims working with free spin hub kits or don’t want to cut center caps up, look at ram man inc hubs, he uses timkin ford unit bearing hubs...
Your right! I just can’t express how ugly the 2020 hd gm truck are, that pic of the one with the chrome grill that first came out reminds me of that kid from family guy with the upside down face.
No kinks or issues with the line, I’m going to time it this weekend. Temps were around 6 degrees out when I transferred last. I’m not sure if that will make a difference or not.
There is a video outlining the split tailgate on YouTube now, looks like a good option, but the cost is 900 and 200 for a retractable step, seams kinda expensive.
Gm was very much behind the game with their gasser engine options... the 2020 gm hd is one ugly truck. I would opt for a ford with the 7.3 gas over that gm hd any day.
The underhood light is an option, when you order a truck if you don’t click that box you don’t get it. The cabin air filters come on 17 and up trucks, years below you can add it, get the kit from genos garage.
Yeah the pump is still very slow, even in warmer weather, the controller is kinda cheap. I only fill up at truck stops or places that sell allot of fuel, so I now can be more selective.
