>which seems to indicate that a 9% increase in HP and 15% increase in torque was gained in '98 due to engine modifications other than an intercooler, but it's hard to know whether these gains were realized in >the E350. There seem to be a lot of rumors of detuning or different fuel mapping...
I just replaced my seat base on the weekend with a swivel and haven't yet reinstalled my 5K Diesel heater. So here ya go.
This is from a 2008, E350, Cab and Chassis.
Looking forward to your progress. I've been pondering a 4x4 conversion as well. I've certainly preferred the ride of my coil sprung rigs but I also appreciate the point that Chris of Ujoint makes regarding having more flexibility in front axle placement with leaf springs.
I think it depends on your goals and expectations.
If you're expecting to replace a lot of belts, hose and rubber mounts plus do any other maintenance a 35 year old vehicle needs then rust and previous accidents would be the big things.
An the other hand, if you're looking to be driving it...
Well.. it's been awhile since I've updated. Due to small time window between my mother's cancer treatments I pretty much had to get super focused on just getting it road trip worthy.
Just got back from a 13 day and 2400 km road trip. Surprisingly my 6.0 PSD didn't blow up nor did I get...
I have no experience with the 5.4 so can't offer any specific advice.
On the other hand I do have experience with trying to limp broken vehicles home and unless you know the cause and that further driving won't make it worse then I'd park it. Don't be like me and turn a $50 one hour fix into a...
Oh the adventures! :)
Not sure if it would apply to you but when the clutch slave cylinder went on my old landcruiser the gearing was low enough I could start it in gear. Better than slam shifting it.
Thanks @Abitibi No extra windows for this phase. Hopefully have time this fall. I did order a small boat window that will fit inside the frame extension for the roof raise. If it works then I'll likely add 5 more. Thinking that VW microbus look with the high windows.
Been focused on getting stuff done and not so much on taking pics or posting. So here's a quick update.
Just about have all the walls installed. Will be whitewashing them as a bunch of the panels are recycled and the whitewash will conceal some of the flaws. Few big jobs left to do. Ceiling...
Sweet rig!
I'm no expert on the 6.2 but wouldn't you just turn up the fuel delivery?
On my old Landcruiser with the NA 3B, adding a turbo made very little difference until I turned up the fuel.
I found this article really interesting. I'm not educated enough to validate the author's theory but I did use a basic hybrid system as described without issue for about 3 months.

Quick progress update: welded up the new bed frame/rear garage. Takes about 10 minutes to remove mattress and centre section in the event I want to move something large.
Mostly built with aluminum 1x1 .125 wall but the two outside bed supports are 2"x1". Didn't want to add extra support but...
