Just the generator and the A/C are probably worth the price if you can make them run again. Are the tops for the old van suited for the post 92 body? If so, that would be a great deal for someone close to Baltimore.
Well, after driving the wheels for a couple of weeks I decided on the new tires: Falken Wildpeak AT3W 305/65r18. I never liked the chrome so by the time I factor new installation, stripping or sanding the crome, painting,.. getting a half-a.. wheels, i got a good deal at my local Discount Tire...
Good looking van. I followed your advice and got my tires from Discount Tires Direct. I got them through their eBay store as they had $100 off on 2 tires. At the end I got them for close to $250 less than anywhere else. I got the Falken AT3W also. I got 305/65R18. I'll get them by the end of...
Beautiful project and pictures. I do not think I'll be working on anything like this, but I love to follow this thread. Great pictures and and great job.
Nice update on the van.
I’ve watched the first episode. A lot better than I expected.
I’ll be looking for some van action. Hopefully not just shuttle duty.
Cool vans on TV shows may give some creed to the vans. I am still sad for the A-Team movie and the wasted opportunity for one of the most...
There is no doubt about it. If you are lucky to have a shop with the right personnel using the computer. I tried 5 different Firestone stores with my old van (2wd) and always had to do re-adjustments as it was off center, pulling to one side or wearing tires.
Alignment was a source of frustration with my 2000 E150 2wd. I had the Firestone lifetime alignment and they were never able to figured out how to use the compound alignment cams. I ended doing the final adjustment myself.
Toe-in: two jack stands, umbrella base or the like, place in front and...
The wheel swapping didn't go without drama. back pain for the rest of the weekend and ER trip on Tuesday as I was not bale to get out of bed. Rest, muscle relaxant and anti-inflammatories and almost back on my feet. Careful when handling 90+ lbs wheels.
I've driving around with the new wheels...
New Shoes. Well, new to me. I didn't want to spend $1,500 on some wheels that I may not like. I got these on Craigslist SD Series Diesel 18x9 rims and 325/65R18 tires. I hate chrome and it is peeling anyway so I'll be painting them down the road.
The tires are going to be good for a couple of...
The #vanlife is really a thing!
I am no expert in marketing, but I stayed at the Holiday Inn. The Web page and the video are puzzling: Not a single picture of van and half the video is a drone flying over the Florida coast!
Of course not a single mention of the proletarian E-vans, Savanna or...
Check the wheel bearings and brake pads. Easy to change at home, a pain to do in middle of the road, specially the bearings (I have first hand experience). Not that long of a drive.
Do you plan to live in your van in TX during the summer? Have you been in TX during summer before? Austin is...
Very well known issue. With the 880s springs on a 7.3 you should be able to fix it with alignment cams.
Google I-beams camber, there is a plethora of information.
Shooting from the hip here. I had weird issues with my 2000 e150. When applying the brakes, the radio will tun off and loose the presets and few other electric gremlins. It turned out to be the grounding of the dashboard frame. Easy to check, clamp a jumper cable on the frame inside the...
Not a lot of progress, but I am all for celebrate even the small accomplishments. I had to change the catalytic converters. After a few weeks knowing that I had a leak that I need top address, one of the cats broke by the connecting point to the pipe. Of course it was the one that sits on top of...
