I’ve thought about the paint. But I’m not sure if it would be wise to mess with it. I do have two nice bright Mexican blankets sitting in a chest at home :-) I may attempt to wet and re-shape the rear headliner that had fallen.

Steers just fine. I don’t feel any binding or anything and there are no more of those ‘under vehicle clunks’ I was getting on turns. I’m going to assume that was just the clutches sticking in the q trac as was suggested by an FSJ specialist. He said make some turns in pavement and it should...

Turns out the 74 shifts out of first just fine. I checked modulator, it was connected. Then I figured maybe the kickdown was faulty and supplying a constant 12v. Unplugged the kickdown, went for a drive, bam, shifts through all gears great! I even wound the old girl up to 35mph.

Well...... I got the fuel tank out a few weeks ago, realized I needed a new filler neck, sourced one from a friend, and FINALLY got time to ******** around with it some more this past weekend. Installed the tank from my 1973, had to source new filler tube because apparently I threw mine away, put...

Shoot, mine does too. Which normally results in me having to blast the furnace even in the summer. LOL. I'll sell ya mine if you wanna make the drive ;-)

I dont know much about AC on pop ups, i only see it rarely and on big massive ones. Do you all have a health problem that needs AC? If not, you're camping, suck it up :-) Look for a jayco baja. https://goldcountry.craigslist.org/rvd/d/2006-jayco-baja-10z-off-road/6271948326.html

ah yes, you better stick with something small then. A 3000lbs pop up might be a bit much. Mine weighs like 1100lbs dry. but doesnt have AC or a toiler or electric lifts or any of that jazz

what are you towing with? Popups can get just as heavy as a full trailer pretty quick. They have 2x the headache and less advantage as a regular camper in my opinion.

I doubt its stuck in "Emergency Drive" as they call it on the full time 4x4 FSJ's. There is a switch in the glovebox, but the vacuum actuator on the transfer case is disconnected. The switch on the lower right is for the optional low range, which does work, but it is still in high. Its likely...

    1. Do you feel like your pop-up is adequate for the camping you do? Yes. I would buy something different were it not. My wife likes having room to stand up, sit down, move around, etc. Its nice to get up in the AM and have room to be before you need to step outside. Yes, this can be...

Well it just may end up in a buddy's driveway before too long. He has expressed interest in it after helping me work on it a bit, and I know he will do right by it, so I may let it go his direction in the near future :-)

Well the 74 just drove its first appreciable distance in 13 or so years. I pulled it around from my back yard to my driveway to get working on the gas tank. It was hot, and not all my pieces matched up, so I only got the old tank out and disconnected. I had to cut some rubbery bits, and as...

All I did was throw some atf in the new oil. It's prolly been run less than an hour total since then, and I haven't changed the oil or anything since. I'm hoping once I get the other stuff done I can run it around s little with some load on it and see how it does

Well that was an absolutely miserable day in the sun, but the brakes are finished. Got both sides done and couldn't get the drums to fit for the life of me. I've done drums dozens of times and everything was on right. Eventually started comparing the old shoes to the new ones and there were some...
