my wife and i just sold our first adventure rig combo, but what we did was lots of sponge baths as others have noted above, and every-other-day take a nice one-gallon-shower through a simple set up. My wife found a small 1 gallon garden sprayer. We would heat up a kettle of water and pour it...
thanks you two. i did find the other forum that he seems to frequent on the XPC side of things.
thx for the additional thoughts on the flat bed...i am totally sold on the idea. just trying to find any options and refrain from paying needless sales tax.
: )
Great work on the build Marc!
A couple of questions on the XP. I've read the updated website and specs.
If the base rig were a 2011 F350 Chassis Crew Cab 176" wheel base what modifications are made to the flat bed to accomodate the higher cab of the superduty? Is there more "basement" with the...
Thank you for continuing to send your ideas!
Mike; i've followed your projects. Very nice build, and we're practicaly neighbors so i know you feel-my-pain when it comes to soggy camping! I'm thinking a nice picture window 2x4 ?? could easily cost in the neighborhood of 1k? Not a big deal, but...
We recently sold our TACO and planning our next rig...but what we used was a stand alone shower tent and a 1 gallon garden sprayer with hot water from a kettle over our stove. This worked great for us. In fact, we liked the simplicity of it so much we would not even utilize the full shower/water...
thanx for the informative reply. I've eyed the dometic skylights with integrated shades/screens and should research how to acquire one for the rig. my wife dosen't like light in the morning hours before she's ready to rise N shine (usually an hour after me) so i'll need some way to stop any...
i agree with others on the handheld being worth it. I've had some fun with mine. never needed it in an emergency though. One trip up to the visitor center on mount saint helens i hit the coast range repeater nearly 70 miles away with five watts. while in convo with a friend i stepped down to 2...
RU55ELL i agree with you from what i've heard from my two kids in the USAirForce who've spent time in the south. sticky, hot ,( Up here it's just the opposite. I think our warmest day wheeling/camping was _maybe_ 78 or so that i recall. take the gold pans down to the river and its easy to cool...
i use a 70 quart YETI for items i want to keep 40 degrees and below on trips of 4 days or less. all it takes is about 6 or so blue ice packs, and pre-freezing the items you will be placing in the cooler. for longer trips the ARB and Engels are great.
we sold our 07 TACO 4x4 TRD Sport we had revo II on and we were totaly sold on their performance in the wet oregon conditions. we are in the research mode for a full sized truck and will look seriously at our tire options and may put revo II on the new rig also. (we ran 245/75/r17 on our stock...
i side with those above who are for listening during the drive, and enjoying nature when we arrive. My wife an i purposely avoid ANY neighbors unless we went there with a group of like minded. . . and none of them would dream of playing music or tv when in camp.
i luved the switch to "pizza cutters" on our 07 TACO TRD. The ride in the wet oregon conditions was excellent. we went from the stock 265/65/r17 to 245/75/r17. (ours were dueler revo II. my point being there are times with tall/skinnies are the way to go!)
I'm with you 100% ! and yes i'm curious to read what other's might think.
As i hinted in my post, i believe the biggest hurdle would be selling my wife on the idea.
I'm in the initial stages of designing a camper that will be used primarily in the soggy pacific north west. I've spent nearly 20 years camping in various rigs from tents, campers, pop-ups, to hard sided trailers. In nearly every situation the windows became nearly useless for ventelation during...
following the thread with great interest !
As a fellow Oregonian (live on the northcoast near Astoria) i resemble that remark : ) I remember the first winter my wife and i moved to the coast from the Nevada desert. One day arriving at home on our "hill" all iced over... i decided the best way to...
i've spent hours, maybe even days devouring sites like:

and

I totally enjoy small cozy places (so does my wife). I think that personality quirk does well in the expo-rig lifestyle.
this one also has the abs bed liner... in that picture of the open man door i had a false floor riser which is no longer in the truck (turned out to be impractical).

Greetings any who pass this way.
Just a quick note to let you know my wife's daily driver, "Accrete's FireRed 07 TACO" was listed on Craig's List and sold within the week. The funny thing is i went to the dealership we purchased the rig from a few years back...
your VRV looks great. I've been doing some research (thinking of selling what we currently have) and arrived at the CampLite or VRV units (both by Livin'Lite). I've been emailing Scott T on interior ideas. He seems real open to working with the customer within design limits. Overall the trailers...
