O.K., I lied. One more bike. My last one I promise. 2014 BMW F800GT. This was my very favorite street bike. Relatively light weight, handles like a dream, in fact scarey what an old fart could do and feel perfectly safe on this one. I'm 6'1"; the bike fits 5'8"-5'11" folks much better. Even...

The under sink/stove storage area is pretty significant. Nanc and I use this area for most of our pots and pans, silverware, spices, and cleaning fluids and soap, plus Costco yellow shop towels. The towels also work well between pots and pans to keep them from rattling and dinging stuff up when...

Looking toward the rear of the trailer at the one piece rear door. The locking mechanism is a significant upgrade from my original. I have asked Mark if he can make this change to the Beastie. The new unit is lockable from the outside. This allows the owner to detach the trailer from the tug...

Oops, I may have been wrong. Looks like Mark is using some of the front storage for the Truma heating system. Still, storage is more than adequate. Newer radio unit and speaker system??

I believe the upper unit here is the Truma heater control unit. Will have to get clarification from Mark. The lower unit is pretty much like the original in Beastie. The switches control interior and exterior lighting, the water pump, etc. I love the way the new table system can swivel out...

Looking into the trailer from the rear. This new table system is MUCH better than my original. I think the two black straps pull the sides in when closing the top. The new shower system is also a winner. No more having a large box hanging off the driver's side of the trailer. The box held...

I have been texting with Mark, Mission Overland's owner and builder. Looks like he is concentrating on making the Overland pretty well configured but with less options than in the past. From the pics he sent me, which I'll share here, this idea is a sound one. Here is a pic of his latest...

O.K., let's work on some dates. And yes your are correct. Once up here you won't want to leave, At least during the summer. ? Winters are a bit tougher. Pic of one of my favorite fishing streams. And this is near the campsite, not really of the best fishing spots! This is why you got the...

Muley Point with the old Free Spirit tent trailer. I can't think of a single location where the larger Beastie wouldn't have fit where I was able to tug the smaller trailer. Both have Timbren heavy duty suspension. Beastie is longer, but has much better clearance and comfort.

This post has nothing to do with the Beastie, but it does cover some loves lost. I have loved overlanding now for over 40 years. I plan on doing it as long as I can crawl behind the steering wheel. But....I really miss not being able to play on these anymore. SWMBO gently requested I give them...

I wonder if I should include some pics from Monument Valley and Valley of the Gods? Or Moki Dugway and Muley Point? Just thinking about those spots makes me want to get back there.

Then, of course, are Arches and Canyonlands NPs north and south of Moab, respectively. I like visiting there in mid- to late April. Lots of public lands and free campsites to pull your trailer to and get away from the winter and early spring blahs up north.

There is a BLM campground just west of Blanding, UT. In the sandstone cliffs just on the north side of this site are some beautiful petrogliphs. Utah is an incredible place to visit. Notice how some of the lower figures are being recovered by desert varnish (Manganese Oxide). Helps suggest to...

Aha! I am constantly amazed at Mark's inventiveness. He is always trying to improve his designs. His craftsmanship is superb. I get a hint from his Facebook page that he has something new in mind. He just never stops! Incredible! BTW, that wrap is my wonderful wife's idea. She found that...
