    Looking at jk unlimited

I would strongly suggest buying the Jeep you want vs. buying a beater with the plans to fix it up. Fixing a Jeep up is always more expensive in the long run and a lot tougher. You end up spending all of your time in the garage fixing it instead of using it. Ask me how I know... I currently have...

    Land Cruiser 76 Specs

I updated my last post with a new improved chart. It now has the price spread of the three models. Marshal asked for a diesel comparison as well, so I went ahead and spec'ed that out as well. I used a Sport model JKU in the diesel chart because Rubicons are not available in that configuration.

    Expo Wagon Comparison

OK, I replaced the original with a new updated one that has price comparison based on the Australian market. Also, I went ahead and compared all three with the diesel engine. I had to use a Jeep sport for my specs, because the Rubicon is only available with the 3.6 pentastar motor.

    Expo Wagon Comparison

I might just have to pursue that. It would be interesting.

    Expo Wagon Comparison

Yes, but they are all three insanely expensive there, so it's a good comparison. The problem with any other country is that they aren't all three available in the same build anywhere else that I know of. The Australian TLC for instance has a V8 diesel. In South Africa it's only available with a...

    Land Cruiser 76 Specs

That wasn't the only surprising figure for me. The towing capacity on the Rover and Land Cruiser were quite high as well. It's hard to imagine a mid size suv handling that much weight.

    Expo Wagon Comparison

Great idea! I've got it all together today and will repost the chart soon. Do you think I should convert all the prices of the cars from the three countries listed to US dollars or all of them as they cost in Australia, the only market with all three exact models? I want to be as close as...

    Expo Wagon Comparison

And the lack of a diesel engine!

    Expo Wagon Comparison

I built a spreadsheet of the specs of three common expo wagons. I can't drive two of the three, so I got all of the usual specs together to compare them. I feel this is an unbiased chart. I do own the JKUR, but they are all three great cars and I hope to someday experience each one. Anyway, I...

    LR Defender110 Specs Help!

Okay, So as promised, I have the spread sheet finished (mostly). I would like to apologize up front to anyone that uses the metric system. I'm a native Oregonian and had to make the numbers mesh inside my head, so I converted all of them to US spec. I had to teach myself to use excel along...

    OME 2" vs AEV 2.5"

Thanks for all the replies! I made the first step the other night and bought the front arm drop brackets. To some people this is a dumb idea due to clearance, but to me it made sense considering my use for my JK. If I want to go out in the really rough stuff I'll take my CJ, but I've always been...

Soft top option for 2012 Rubicon?

    That's a great buy!

Soft top option for 2012 Rubicon?

I hear that! This is the best time to buy a factory soft top though. These Jeeps are still new so the soft tops are selling cheap for a new take off. I was going to sell the one that came on my JKU until I checked the prices on CL. The prices were insanely low, so i've decided to wait a few...

    OME 2" vs AEV 2.5"

Anyone out there tried them both? Here's what I'm dealing with. I have a stock 13 JKUR auto 4.10 that I'm very pleased with overall, but I want to add a little under body ground clearance as well as increased load carrying capacity to handle my family, winch, rear bumper/tire carrier and...

    Downsizing To A Jeep......

I have to agree with you there. I would have been very happy indeed to buy a new JKUR with a vinyl floor, non-power windows and just the basics. A stripped version, so to speak with all of the Rubicon off road goodies. Like a J8 I guess.

    LJ Rubi Unlimited, Version 3

Is your Bantam trailer a tailgate model? It looks very similar to mine, but I've never seen another one with a tailgate. BTW, nice LJ! That Jeep is a long term keeper for sure. If you take care of it, it should retain its value well.

    Downsizing To A Jeep......

I was quite surprised as well. I was confused when I seen it on my window sticker as an option. It wasn't until after I bought the Jeep that I researched it and discovered that 3.73's are stock. It makes sense considering how many people buy a Rubicon and then spend 99% of the time on the street...
