    New GXV Expedition Vehicle.

Your forgetting that the paramters this truck was designed for was not so much so...... "lets set the engine at xyz parameters for most efficient performance" but more so of a compromise that leaned toward..... being more "idiot Soldier-proof along with having maybe 60% WORK ability and 40%...

    Venting portable refrigerator

I use to sell those as a small dometic dealer. That and PETT toilet systems. Was marketing to offroaders only. Still have one fridge about 12 years old. Only the 110v works now though Im sure I can resurect it with a lot of work. It's basically standard 3way RV fridge just mounted to a...

Limb etc. VS roof mount solar panel...... and the winner is?

Makes since and would be most logical route for 99% out there. For once I'm in the 1% hahah. In my set up I need/want it when driving as part power for Cab's AC. More power NOT produced by the Alternator the less strain on the engine, better fuel milage etc.

Header wrap to keep heat off of tranny and rear shock.

Historically it seems such wraps are known for quickly rotting the exhaust out by rust . when first came out they hit the market fast and hard touted as the next best thing... then lost favor nearly as fast due to the rotting issues. Wouldn't consider it without a stainless exhaust if it is...

    Fording Depth vs. Snorkel Height

Last couple posters hit the nail much more squarely. Rigs that come with snorkels do so NOT so much for water crossing but for DUST. Air is cleaner above the vehicle. If there was no such thing as tree's that could hit the snorkel I'm sure the manufacture would have put them even higher for...

Limb etc. VS roof mount solar panel.... want to protect them.

As a moderator for decade plus myself do also feel a bit poo poo about double posting/threading. Honestly thought this board was so widely divided up into different interest areas that folk might not venture outside of their favorite one or two areas into others very often. Otherwise would...

Limb etc. VS roof mount solar panel.... want to protect them.

Thanks for info. on heat. Was aware of that issue but everything is a trade off. Replacing panels before their worn and end up with funds lost not gained. See that 99% do mount few inches above roof surface. Are you suggesting use no limb protection or just less than what wrote about...

Sorry for the double thread posting but figure different minded and knowledgeable folk might venture into this forum than the other.. What do ya'll do to protect the solar panels from limbs etc on the roof of a Exp Rig? Very concerned about tree limbs etc. Why I ask is cause will be...
