    Which Overland Vehicle and Why?

I am flat out having a hard time finding anything on the market that really jumps out at me.

2019 Ranger with slide-in 7 pin connector lost blind spot detection.

Can't you adjust it to work on a trailer? Just tell it you have a really small trailer? https://www.ford.com/technology/driver-assist-technology/blis-trailer-coverage/#trucks They call it "Blis" if there is anything under that in your manual...

    Which Overland Vehicle and Why?

I have been mulling one myself. Good looking truck that is competent offroad, has plenty of room for a rear facing car seat or two and is still decent for towing.

Mount “ditch spots” on tow hooks? / legality / clamps?

I wonder how they sell all the old cop cars with the spotlights still mounted...

    Long Distance '85 Ranger Build

Mid-winter update on the truck: I converted to LED headlights a couple weeks ago, winter set in so I haven't been able to drive with them yet: I also snagged an auto dimming compass mirror from a Grand Marquis, set me back a whopping $4. They are around $160 on Amazon. Kind of an OEM...

    Canyon/Colorado auxiliary 4x4 Indicator?

I think they all do it, I know Ford does. If you want the neat cluster screen that shows which axle is locked and which driveshaft is spinning and what angle your truck is at you have to get the FX4. Cluster could be the same otherwise. I suppose it is incentive to fork over the extra cash...

Balance plays a role too. I haven’t got around to figuring out how but it does. If I put my tractor too far ahead on a flatbed it pulls much harder. Too far back and the handing gets wonky. Same aero, same weight. I position the tractor to level the truck and it is great.

    Dear Ore-Landers: Sleeping method debate

In Boy Scouts we used self inflating air mattresses (only inflate to like 2" thick) on the ground. With a mummy bag 0* was no biggy.

Yeah, the easy answer that takes a midsize off the table is that your camper is flat out too big for one.

Sounds like the trailer that netted 9.8mpg wasn't the most aerodynamic thing though either. A teardrop or something similar with an eye towards efficiency would probably help the mpg.

Perfect off-highway tire = LTX? What?

Different soils interact with different tread patterns differently too. I have MT's on mine and have yet to find them particularly impressive for anything other than longevity. Mine (Firestone Destination MT's) seem to cake up about the same as any other pickup tire. I am going with an...

If I wanted a diesel in my truck I would have put a diesel in my truck. I am not on the sidelines because for some reason I can't have one.

    Build Primer?

If you level it now with no airbags or way to to level it, chances are you will be nose up when you get the truck loaded. My Ranger has the factory rake and when I am loaded for cross country travel (topper + gear) it is pretty much running level. I have rear springs from a 2009 Supercab so it...
