In 40 yrs of driving I've not had a 4 wheel drive for a short 1 1/2 yr period. Having said that it's a lot like having a spare tire, completely useless until you actually need it, and then a godsend. The absolute best and safest use for 4-wheel drive? Go everywhere you want to go in 2 wheel...
The 6.0 suffered from a handful of issues which were not especially difficult fixes, for a properly equipped shop, but they are expensive. The 6.4 suffered from probably only one significant issue, the dpf system, which was easy and not incredibly expensive to rectify.
I think the point...
He must have some major pull-a-parts in his local. Around here you never see anything bigger than a 1/2 ton. Superdutys so go somewhere else. A front D60 will set you back $1k and likely still need a rebuild. He might be able to booty-fab some suspension for that money, but a complete...
A 6.0 is a great running engine, which will turn into a black hole of money when something goes south. A tuner and a stock 6.0 is a bad combination and I can tell you from experience it most likely will not end well. The head studs are not up to the task of a tuner and will let you down...
If you can do it I vote for the few weeks of just chillin. Give the ol' Brain Housing Group a chance to unwind and refresh. Florida isn't going anywhere (global warming not withstanding) so why not?
My wife loves her cast iron pans and Dutch ovens. Being born and raised in Japan you can imagine the amount of seafood said pots and pans experience. Since I leave the care and maintenance (actually I'm not allowed to touch) to her I can't offer much insight other than they never smell of...
Not sure I get the logic there. A 7.3 idi is quite de-rated from the factory but a turbo kit and a couple grand in other stuff will turn it into a beast.
Doesn't change the fact that from the factory it's a slug. A 5.4 against the 6.8 is a slug as well. It works fine in an F150 or something...
That looks like a nice van but without being snarky, what makes this 11 yr old relatively plain jane looking van a $25,000 item? Am I missing something?
I've had a number of M416s and they were always haulers of whatever. I'm not going to get into specifics on how to load yours but I'll tell you this, I've yet to meet one that like a light tongue. If you haul non consumables 10% of total weight of trailer/cargo on the tongue is a good place...
Borderline zombie thread at this point but you're still active elsewhere so why not.
The key to being satisfied with your purchase is once it's done, forget about it. Seriously. And plus one for you for not really asking. Most of the time when somebody says they bought X for Y amount of...
It's first job. Now I have to run some bigger gauge wire to the back of the garage, and it looks like I'll have to put in a slightly bigger breaker panel because the one in there is maxed out. It only has a 6 circuit capacity. Not hard, just another thing to do in an already long list.
But...
