10 awg is good for serious power over short spans. It'll carry 200 amps 3 feet, 150 amps 5 feet, or 100 amps 7 feet. Bigger is always better, but even at a 4:1 safety ratio you're solid for starting duty on a 12v system
Why does eXpO make it so damn hard to upload photos--Dumb. Anyway, I have no idea what order these will post in since it's just script on my screen, but the package arrived today, right on time. Nice little box to store it in too! 12"x12" maybe, certainly smaller than a hard shell roof box...
I went ahead & ordered an 11 cubic foot cross country model directly from roofbag with the nonslip mat & a padlock. All in for $116 shipping included--Can't beat the price, but let's hope it's half the product everyone says it is. I'll post up first impressions when it arrives & a brief review...
How come nobody ever discusses shackle quality around here? In my stage rigging days, the hook attached to the motor from the factory was a non issue, the shackles & spansets & other connection gack was what we argued about. Van Beest green pin vs. CM domestic orange pins was a hot topic...
Yokohama AT is by far the best truck tire I've ever owned & I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. Excellent winter traction, quiet on the highway & wear like iron. Plus the price is right & discount always has them in stock
I thought about a hitch mount carrier, but most that I see on the highway are hanging down all pathetic & our road in CO puts out some punishment. It would take a beating
Ha! Well she can make all the phone calls she likes & eat all the snacks she wants up there without bothering us one bit, so seems a perfect solution! Just kidding, to be clear it's for all her luggage, crafting supplies & food she insists on bringing. Now that I think of it, it's likely my...
I need some rooftop storage to accommodate the mother-in-law on our next trip from TX to the San Juans, but a hard sided carrier is not in the budget. Plus I have nowhere to store one of those mammoths. My wife & I always end up filling the bed with gear ourselves & it has a soft cover. I don't...
Ahaa, good to know. I didn't really think about that, but I'm in no hurry. I'm thinking of tube bumpers front & back now with the side rails--I can get all 3 for about $1500 give or take, about the same price as an ARB front bumper alone... I'm digging that look all of a sudden!
This is one brand I never see anyone around here using. Anybody have a specific issue with their products? I've been drooling over their frontier rear tube bumper & side step rails. Is it junk?
