Storing a Jackery/Lithium battery in a cold place

Just want to double check, is storing one these things in a place that will get well below zero ok? It's just you don't want to charge it when it is cold. Is that correct? Thanks JM

Anyone use a ForestAir 8k mini split?

Saw this unit on the everlanders channel. Curious how people are powering it,c and if they managed to get the umbilical cord detached. I wonder if on newer units it is no longer possible. I was planning on using it with shore power

Do I need a mechanic to remove this heater?

Here are two things written in the invoice for the truck. "52,000 BTU "Glycol" engine driven heater" " is an engine-powered coolant-fed heater" Does that mean it uses the engines coolant? Can a noob like me remove it or will I murder my engine somehow....

Do people use multiple shore power plugs?

Curious if people use more than one kind. Never stayed at an RV park. I was looking at two 120v receptacles, then just have a few different xxxV / xxAMP adapters for whatever is there. Does that make sense, or is there some electrical voodoo reason that is a bad idea....

My new E350 with ITB box

Picked this up the other day. Has a 12ft ITB box on it. Anyone have a guess at what the cab over might be rated for weight wise? I am guessing the walls are built with a similar channel as the ceiling. I have messaged ITB for some specs. But I just got this thing. Can you fill the cavity...

Ecoflow Delta --- How does this make sense?

Maybe there is something I don't understand about how these systems work... but... the graphic below from their site shows this. Also, the "give us your email for secret product information", not a fan of this kind of marketing. How do you go from 6 to 18 hours by doubling the KWh ...

Any reason to get one of these vans over the other?

2012 E250 4.6L $20,500 US 15,500 miles 4.6L 2009 E350 5.4L $18,900 US 34,100 Miles 5.4L Both look like they are short wheelbase. 4x4 Conversion in the fall, so is that a deciding factor on the 250 vs 350 or 4.6 vs 5.4? Yes, the prices are probably crazy wrt locations XYZ and year...

    Replacing a PCM in 1997 F250

Found a truck I am interested in, but the guy says the PCM is mafled and so it is running rough. I tried searching, but don't really see a clear answer. Lots of ECM but not PCM, not clear answer if the part is readily available. Is this an expensive thing to fix? Thanks JM

Regular truck vs Chassis Cab Frame

I can't for life of me find the thread where someone mentioned a difference in the frames of these two types of vehicles. One I believe was a box frame, more rigid say, than the other. I was wondering if this also applies to the E-Series or Express Vans vs Cutaways of those vehicles...

Will any of the Garmins have better GPS than phone?

Was looking at getting a Garmin GPS/messenger. It seems when I am hiking, where I am going I get nothing on my phone for GPS. Will a Garmin have the same problem or do they get better reception? Do some have better GPS reception than others? Say inreachmini vs montana700i Thanks

Does anyone know of a compatible 12v cig -> Jackery adapter?

I tried contacting Jackery, but heard nothing back. They don't seem to sell them. Mine vanished on me.... :( This is for the Jackery 1000 I can't see any specs on it on their site. Thanks JM

Keeping a small Honda generator in your car

Looking at either the 1000w or the 2200w Honda portable generator. Is this something I can keep in the back of a Subaru Outback with other gear? When in the off position, do they smell gassy? I have a larger 3000w one but it doesn't make trips and lives outside under cover. Thanks, JM

Canucks: Amazon sale on Generac generators

Just bought one of these. $415 bux off. Not sure what they are up to in the USA, and this is funny money before you go thinking this is in US dollars. https://www.amazon.ca/Generac-GP3000i-Super-Inverter-Generator/dp/B079KRHJ5C/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=generac+3500&qid=1608232329&sr=8-2

    How are Hiker Trailers built?

I searched, but didn't see anything on how those are constructed. Aluminum outside.... but is there a steel/aluminum frame? Wood monocoque? Been digging through all the different teardrop build methods.... lots of ways to skin a cat (where does that horrible expression come from anyway)...

    DIY pop up mechanism

I have looked through a number threads, so forgive me if I missed one that included this. Could you use something like the Happijac Jacks to lift your roof? Why not have those serve two purposes. Just flip them back around a remount them when you want to take the camper/topper off. Given...

Anyone ever use these structural connector components?

Nope, I'm not trying to get out of learning welding, still the plan for the new year. But I came across this place and wondered how far you could take this stuff. Looks good for building things inside, but could it be used to build a frame on a trailer or flatbed...
