Thanks!
I have averaged 11mpg on several long trips.
This is cruising at the highway speed limits, 65-75 mph where allowed. It can probably get 12 + mpg if one weren't in as much of a hurry.
A few more details about the shower.
The shower curtain itself takes up no space, stows in the kitchen compartment, and unrolls for use. High strength magnets are installed into the ceiling, and corresponding hooks on the shower curtain snap securely into place. Install time, 1 minute.

Yes, the AC is powered by 110v. There are multiple 110v plugs throughout the vehicle, powered by the 2 on-board inverters. Over 5,000 watts of pure-sine wave inverter AC power are available.
I did not want to put a hole in the solid aluminum roof panel. So I installed this unit and vented it...
A little highlight on STORAGE!
In a world where I witness so many "overlanders" competing for how much extra gear, cargo boxes, etc, they can hang off the side of their vehicle... I wanted something different. Nothing dragging in the wind, or dangling as a target for thieves. The vehicle also...
I got a question about the convertible couch/bed. Here are a few images and some info.
Custom fabricated extendable frame, and 3 custom made and upholstered 6" mattresses.
A sliding slatted bed frame allows the couch to be extended.
The couch has 3 modes. Couch (33"), daybed (49"), and fully...
I appreciate the kind words. And for the great question, as I did intend to list that info!
The interior height of the rear box is 68"
Generous for an ambulance box of this era, but not quite tall enough to stand for some.
My significant other stands at 5'7" and can walk around back there at...
-SOLD-
The time has come to sell my self-converted ambulance camper. I acquired this vehicle in December 2019 after a very long search for the right platform to build a capable off grid camper. I don't need to go over the merits of an ambulance box on this forum, but it was an obvious choice...
While it's a nice truck indeed, "Exceptional Overland Rig" feels like somewhat clickbaity of a title.
Something like the truck info, price, and location, could serve as more useful indicators for the prospective buyers lurking these forums.
I'll add that I agree the pricing has gotten out of control, and seems to be inflated on this BAT auction.
I still regularly see very nice examples of these going for under $15k in nice enough condition. That V8 is a solid motor ( for as long as gas prices remain reasonable.)
"a motor that runs forever if properly maintained"...
That perfectly explains why these are in demand.
It's a shame that modern engineering does not seem to offer any improvements in longevity. We may have much better fuel economy available in modern trucks, but reliability has been...
This has potential. I might be interested if you're not too far (being that it needs to be towed).
You didn't mention specific location. Where's the vehicle located?
Beautiful! I have seen much rougher/higher mileage examples go for much more.
It's almost perfect, just need to pluck that little light off the front (I joke, but I'd personally subtract that addition)
This makes an excellent vehicle for daily driving and still totally capable for any...
