I forgot to add we are using an Ultra Swing for a 37 inch spare as well. It works great and does not rattle at all. We have done long trips to include trails in Colorado and Moab and had no issues.
I am still considering going to a bumper with a swing out so that I can tow more easily...

Do one thing at a time and then re-evaluate. It makes it a lot easier to find the culprit if the upgrade did not improve things in the way that you were hoping. Carli and Thuren are both very helpful with technical questions when you are trying to sort things out.
