Here is yet another revision (minus axle and tires). I think this is a bit more realistic size wise for what I'll be needing it to do. Thanks again for all the assistance. Hopefully this weekend I'll be able to start collecting the steel tubing needed to begin this project.

Excellent input folks, thank you. As for track width and how I landed on those numbers, this is all shooting from the hip at this point. I'm just trying to get a good layout (rough shape wise), before I hammer out all the specifics as far as width and what not.

Realized that some of my measurements looked a little off, so I redid some of the tubing, and this is what I came up with. Outside frame rail to outside frame rail is 59 1/4"; and the tip of the tongue to the rear of the bumper is now 166 1/16", and the main box area in 96" from front to rear...

Indie- I see what you are talking about. This is what I think you mean about triangulating the tongue a bit more to transfer the load to the outside frame rails and in turn the leaf springs and axle, or am I way off base here?

The Obligitory Planning and Eventual Build Thread

Howdy folks. Been lurking here for a while now, and have some ideas (quite a few actually) floating around in my head that I intend to put down on paper sometime today. I do have a few questions right off the bat though, seeing as I am a complete n00b when it comes to these amazing trailers that...

    Jah310 Trailer Build. Here goes...!

Happy to say this is my first post, and I just read through your entire thread. Amazing work for your first fabrication project! Hope that I can produce some quality results like that for my first build. I do have a few questions. - What welder are you using for this project? (flux...
