Thank you. It Definitely was a time consuming process and continues to be a work in progress as stuff breaks and gets upgraded. I recently installed the Total Chaos Idler arm. Total Chaos Caddy Idler Arm install - Toyota Pickup 4runner hilux Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yup thats a pretty good look at what it would look like in a shorter version. I think that version would do better 4wheeling than mine. I have notice the lack of weight in the rear make it hard to climb up some trails. My first idea was to chop the roof off the 4runner and cap off the back. Its...

The the geometry is slightly different from stock because I made longer arms. With the longer arms the bushing are at a slight angle. It is not the best set up but I haven't had any issues with the rear end at all. The other day I removed my 4" lift and reinstalled the ball joint spacers and...

Sorry I have missed a few new post. To answer a few questions; Floor pan. The floor pan is mostly 4runner. I just used some scrap sheet metal to mate the rear of the 4runner floor pan to the back of the cab. I also had to make a small patch between the lower rear door seal and the 4runner...

I think I like the grabbers better but I don't think they offer a skinny tire above 32" and I don't enjoy floating over the slick stuff when I can get good traction a few inches down. When I was running the grabbers and got into slick mud, snow or loose dirt and couldn't crawl up it I could just...

I have 40-50 hours in each one so it would probably be more cost effective to buy a ARB or similar. I built the T100 bumper because ARB doesn't make one. TJM used to make a winch bumper but quit selling it "winch rated" because of bracket problems IIRC. I build my own because I'm too cheap to...

I have a lot of stuff to finish on the truck still. I didn't want to go SAS but after trashing my idler arm in Moab I have reconsidered it. I will either order a wider front axle housing or have a stock one widened to match the rear. I already have another elocker for the front. I might...

For those considering 255/85/16s...ST/MAXX is coming soon

I have to run them at a lower air pressure the I did with my general grabber AT2 both were E rate but the grabber was a 265/75r16 Took them to Moab this year and aired down to 15 in the rear and 20 in the front. I think I could have lowered them more and got better traction. I never had to...

While I was waiting for the call to pick up my Hilux I started on my wheels. My wheels came off a 1997 toyota 4runner and my brother painted them before I bought them from him. The looked good at first but had lots of abuse over the years. I stripped the paint off and then the toyota coating...

I was trying to decide what kind or truck I wanted. I was set on a double cab Tacoma but I wanted to transfer a lot of my parts to the Tacoma but I would have to sell my 4runner before I could buy a Tacoma. I decide I didn't want a truck payment so I was looking at 1989-1994 V6 extended cab...

This project started years ago and I don't remember all that has been done or how certain thing were modified but I will post what I can remember. This is just my story of my truck so please keep negative and useless comments to yourself. I'm not a engineer or body man. I did things when I could...

    Hilux in the US

The pictures I have from the early stages are very bad due to my phone cover and smoke in the garage but here are a few. I will soon make a complete build thread. In these next 2 you can see how far I had to move the axle back

    Hilux in the US

I also considered the ute bed for this one as I built one for last last truck but I dont think I will build one for this truck. I made the 7' over the 6'3' do I could fit my dirt bike in the bed without turning it sideways or leaving the tailgate down. The side rail were removable and I planned...

    Hilux in the US

My truck started its life as a toyota 4Runner. i bought the truck with a rod hanging out the side of the block so I slapped the 3.4 in and found a cheep super charger. I was happy with it until I got dogs so in October I decided I needed a double cab truck but didn't want to shell out the money...

    Hilux in the US

Millions? I don't think I've seen millions. Other than dreaming over pictures of the Hilux and other cool vehicles not allowed in the US, I have only seen the other 2 trucks in Moab and mine in person. My Hilux was not imported second hand. It has a Colorado title and I've owned it for 4-5 years.
