    GTM 800 Tahoe/Suburban Wheel Hub/Bearing?

Moog, and if you can't find one locally, then Timken. I've installed lots of both brands at work, and never really had issues, while the cheap brands usually only last a few years.

My 2000 GMC Yukon XL K1500

Also, the hood vents are just cheap $2 aluminum eave louvers riveted into the hood. I just cut the hole 1/2in smaller than the size of the vent. Here's a picture of the vents right after I installed them and painted the hood.

My 2000 GMC Yukon XL K1500

Oh yeah, did knock sensors and harness after my first time out. I've done a lot of them at the shop, so knew what I was looking for when I lost power. :)

My 2000 GMC Yukon XL K1500

Thanks. Just a home brew, made from 3/4" EMT conduit. I'll probably end up re-making it, there's some things I wanna do differently, mostly make it a little lower. I left the mechanical fan in place, the electric fans are just to assist during summer. I'm in south Florida, and there's a lot of...

My 2000 GMC Yukon XL K1500

I built this truck mostly to take us down intermediate trails, to find the best campsite possible, to be comfortable while doing so, and not break the bank. There's usually 3 or 4 people when we go out, plus 4 dogs. I've been very happy with it, but it definitely has it's limitations. On to the...

    Dual Battery System Grounding Question

Ground loops absolutely can occur in 12V systems and vehicles. You should always try to ground as much as possible to the same locations.

Has anyone built a 2wd rig?

I'm sorry, but that makes no sense and is flat out wrong. A factory air box and proper filter would do a much better job than a snorkel. The entire purpose of a snorkel is for fording water without risking your engine. I think what you're getting at is that most people who install snorkels don't...

Has anyone built a 2wd rig?

Depends on where he's at. Down here in south Florida, a snorkel is very highly recommended. Lots of trails can be under 2-3 feet of water, with holes that go 4-5 feet. The trail surface will be hard, so you'll get plenty of traction. I've driven lots of those trails in my 2WD Suburban, and...

Has anyone built a 2wd rig?

Those are great points. I live in south FL, so it's extremely flat. 2WD took me almost everywhere I wanted to go...unless it was sugar sand or sticky mud. Sugar sand required lots of momentum, and if you lost that momentum, you dug down and were done. Sticky mud was a lost cause. There was no...

Has anyone built a 2wd rig?

Sure did, a 2002 Suburban, with a factory locker, 3" lift, 33" KO2's, Bilstein 5100s. Was a good truck, did better than I expected it to. Just know your limits, bring recovery gear and a shovel, and drive smart.

    'Burb buying advice

Just a heads up, while the oil pans are known to leak, the majority of the time it's the rear main seal housing. Oil will even travel around the whole rim of the pan, really making it look like the pan. Pop off the little inspection cover from the bell housing, and clean up any oil on the back...

Man, I've always dreamed of a poptop on a fullsize. Awesome! I'm gonna go read the build thread.

Here's my 2000 Yukon XL K1500. Still lots to be done. Right now it's got a 3" lift, Bilstein 5100's on all four corners, custom rack, ebay special lights, Bearcat 880 CB, spare tire mount from a Mitsubishi Montero, and running boards and lower valence removed. Next is 33" tires, then a house...
