Given your experience in it so far, how long would you be able to stay off-grid (assuming enough food, water, fuel for motos and decent sun for charging, of course)?
SOLD
Our rig that we affectionately referred to as "Stamper" (lookup Ken Kesey) has been sold to a nice couple that will be using it to make their own exploration memories. It's been a great ride, Stamper!
TruckCamperAdventure did this nice review recently of the Froli modular sleep system that we have installed in our XPCamper.

It's worth mentioning again that our rig is titled and registered in South Dakota. South Dakota is unique in that it allows vehicles to be registered in the state by simply having a mailing address in South Dakota. If you've ever visited Mexico, Baja in particular, and wondered why so many South...
I know nothing about importation costs. State registration and sales tax would depend entirely on your particular state. Some states, such as WA, OR, ID, UT and more, register truck campers separate from the pickup, requiring an additional title, registration/plate fee (and requires the plate to...
Interesting how terms vary by region. Out west we say either canopy or shell, whereas a camper is more like a slide-in or flatbed habitat with a bed, sink, fridge, etc.
I may have failed to mention that the sale includes camper jacks to remove the camper from the flatbed/truck tray. Sides for the tray are available from Nimbl, turning the rig into a great utility vehicle to use around the house or farm. This picture was taken before the truck build was complete...
We've just been contacted about doing an extended foreign house-sitting gig but in order for us to do so we have to get our rig sold. I've just dropped the price to help take the sting out of the current price of diesel. Come take a look, you won't find a nicer used Dodge XPCamper Nimbl rig...
When I was in our camper last night I noticed something I've forgot to mention. Included in the sale is a complete set of National Geographic Adventure Maps for Mexico, and every Central and South America country. These are premium, waterproof and tear-resistant maps, nearly $350 worth according...
In case anyone is interested, the flatbed tray was made by the same company as the camper, XPCamper. The camper mates to this flatbed by four positioning pins that go into matching holes in the flatbed and are then locked in place via horizontal bolts through the side of the flatbed. Though I...
That's the switch for the PacBrake exhaust brake. Great for saving the brakes on long (or short) downhills. An an ex-truck-driver I use it all the time, even slowing down for stop-lights.
No way after 3.5 years of full-time travel is ours a virgin. It's so nice to NOT have to find somewhere outside to make a deposit in the middle of the night if needed. Our Thetford cassette, with the added SOG charcoal filter, is easy to empty and easy to clean...no black-water tank.
Why an auto? We chose the manual over an auto for ease of maintenance and availability of parts. A manual can be repaired just about anywhere outside the US, not so much with an auto as it will likely need to be replaced in its entirety.
It's amazing that so many folks here seem to be experts at used vehicle market values, including all makes, models and years, and even for parts of the country where they don't even live. Possibly they're all used car salesmen. Perhaps it's time the forum mods run this forum like a few others...
