    Need some soft wall advice

Not sure. I had considered cutting off the plastic window portion and just moving that inside but still mulling over ideas. Thanks to everyone that responded. No easy solution as I thought, so I'll have to see what I come up with.

    Need some soft wall advice

The stitches as the ends are actually where I have a velcro seam so I can remove each section independently for installation. Not really reversible. Thanks for the compliments! It's almost everything I wanted to incorporate that I learned from my first build. We love that first trailer but...

    Need some soft wall advice

Unfortunately not, as the lower outer edge has a lip that is a water deflector. The layout of the window is flap and window that can each be rolled up independently, and then fixed screen. I can reach up off the fender steps, but the issue is the passenger side will have a 270* awning which...

    Need some soft wall advice

It's been a while since I posting anything, but I started another trailer build back in 2017 that I got a good start on, and then several other things got in the way so it sat for a few years. A couple years ago I finally got back on it so I could clear it out of the garage. As the pics show...

    Composite pop up project

I had a chance to swing down to the shop and check this camper out myself a few weeks back and it looks even better in person. As per usual, Mark's attention to detail and craftsmanship shows through from top to bottom.:wings: Mark, thanks for taking a few hours out of your day to catch up and...

    EarthRoamer XV-JP "Northwest Edition"

Just spent the last several days reading this thread from front to back and all I can say is what an emotional roller coaster!! From the beginning this build has been well thought out and doubly well executed. After the unfortunate destruction of this rig it was almost too much to comprehend...

    Offroad teardrop build

It's about 58". Sorry for the late reply.

    Offroad teardrop build

Thanks for the compliments. The underside is coated with brush-on roofing tar. Seems to be the common way to protect the bottom of wooden teardrops. For the size and weight of the trailer I think the 2x2 is fine but if I was going to be above 2500lbs loaded I would probably go to 2x3. The...

    Offroad teardrop build

Thanks for the compliments. :) Now I'm just waiting for my awning/roof rack mounts and should be pretty much done at that point. Off course those will have to wait until the spring now as well as getting some actual use out of it. I've definitely learned what things I would do differently on...

    Offroad teardrop build

The new coupler worked out perfectly and the trailer and Jeep are still level!! Also got the spare tire mount bolted on which made it handle better with a little more tongue weight. I also finally finished up the bolt-on hitch that I have been working on so we can put our bike rack in if we...

    Offroad teardrop build

It's been far too long since I posted any updates so here's a few. I decided to try my hand at building my own multi-axis coupler seeing that I just plain don't have the $325CDN to buy a MaxCoupler right now. I started with some old control arms I had laying around and used those for the...

    Offroad teardrop build

Tried to find a silver but nothing really closer in a latex. This color is called Tinfoil and it kind of hits between the silver of my Jeep and the billet of my wife's so it can go with either depending on what we are towing with.

    Offroad teardrop build

Finally managed to get the trailer back outside today to take some pictures of the progress since the last update. I purchased some black trim with an insert molding for around the exterior edges and installed that a couple of months ago now. I figured out what I wanted to do with the checker...

Just epoxy over wood. If it works for the wooden boat guys it should work for me. :sombrero:

Flatbed and composite panel build on Dodge 2500

Mark you know how much I would do that in a second if I could swing it!! If it wasn't for the 2 hour commute one way I'd be all over it right now. Got anything I can do from home to start? I'm happy to try and make something work. :D

    Offroad teardrop build

Sorry for not getting back to your comments guys. I haven't had a lot of time to work on this the last few months due to the fact that my new job thinks it owns me and I have been working WAY more weekends than I agreed to so no time for a personal life. Anyhow, it's not finished yet but...

Flatbed and composite panel build on Dodge 2500

The final product looks amazing Mark. Too bad I haven't had time in the last several weeks to track more of the thread let alone finish my trailer build. :(

Flatbed and composite panel build on Dodge 2500

No worries Mark - I know you're super slammin busy right now. I'll try for another time to come down when you're able to spend a few minutes with me so I'm not taking you away from real business. :sombrero:

My wife and I were discussing that yesterday also. The is exactly what I plan on doing with them. ;)

    Offroad teardrop build

It's more of a "hunchy" than a "standy" but it is definitely nice to be able to sit out of the inclement weather if it pops up. LOL! Thanks. It's funny that you think it's so well done and I think it's mediocre at best. If I actually had proper wood working tools I could have done better by...
