    Hitch Carrier?

I've got a Black Widow "heavy duty" carrier as well but it's not the aluminum one. It's actually the one you see here https://www.blackwidowpro.com/motorcycle/carriers/p/mcc-600/ That being said, I think the aluminum one is better and apparently cheaper. The loops on mine don't necessarily...

    270 Awning FREE STANDING!

Like everyone else has said, you're not going to find a "free-standing" 270 awning that can also handle winds. Best thing is to just find one that can be free-standing for quick/short deployments but is also easy to stake down if/when you need to. I've been very happy with my OVS 270.

    Looking for RTT opinions

I've owned more tents than I would like to admit and I'm going to echo what it looks like most people are saying and tell you to stay away from an RTT if you want to check all those boxes. First off, if you want four people in the tent, it's gonna have to be a big folding tent. Second, they're...

    Who made this RTT

Looks like one of many different "brands" of mass-manufactured Chinese tent ... My first guess was an old Tepui.

Making the leap to an RTT.

When you say awning, are you talking about the annex? If so, height doesn't really matter. You can use it at any height. All that happens when it's lower is that the bottom may bunch up on the ground. It's still fully usable though.

James Baroud Black Grand Raid XXL w/ awning and Tunnel - SOLD

JB Awnings can have a small "tunnel" in the top of them that allows you to access the tent by crawling through the awning, into a short "tunnel" and into the tent. It's a pretty sweet setup actually.

    Roof Top Tent (RTT) Question

lol - Are you the guy that mounted your JB tent backwards and then complained when they wouldn't warranty any damage? Come off it man. JB makes a great tent and I see them all over being used by people that love them. That being said, I would say their customer service is likely slim to none...

Decked storage vs bedslide for Tacoma with cap

I was going to say this is a tough call but if you're going to be sleeping in the bed, I'd say 100% drawers. If you weren't going to sleep in it, I'd think it would be closer. I personally went with drawers but I can totally see an argument for the slide. But, if you're sleeping in it, the...

    FS: James Baroud Evasion XXL

Located in Seattle but willing to drive a decent distance (always looking for road trip excuses). I bought this right before COVID hit and it's basically sat on the truck since. We've used it a few times but, as COVID has changed everyone's life, our lives have now changed and will be...

Let’s see your bed storage systems

Fair point but that really applies to any time you load anything into the back of a truck.

Yeah, I think if I did it over again, I'd go for the bed slide instead of the Decked

Let’s see your bed storage systems

I spent a lot of time looking at all kinds of different options out there and while there are things I don't like about the Decked system, it became pretty apparent that it's the best option when it comes to striking a compromise between money and bootleggedness. If you want to go with bins...

    Roof Top Tent (RTT) Questions

I'll go ahead and pile on here as well. It's definitely a love/hate relationship and it almost all depends on how you're going to use it. For me, the pros are Doesn't take up space in the car with having to pack a tent, sleeping pads, sleeping bags, pillows, etc Don't have to muck about...

Recommendations for 5 person rooftop tent

I think they may have dropped their "summit" series but all the sizes are still there and they now have the hybrids as well.

Really? What makes you say that? I was under the impression it's been their bread and butter. They still have them all on their website.

Recommendations for 5 person rooftop tent

If you had the Autohome, you're going to thnk the iKamper is pretty uncomfortable unless you put some extra padding in it. FWIW, I think Tepui is now owned by Thule. Not sure how that has affected their product though. CVT's were probably the most comfortable tent I had and, IMO, the setup...
