Shortly after I returned from Michigan, we met some friends down near Hocking Hills for their birthday and tacked on a little camping for ourselves beforehand.
We took a quick trip over to the Atkinson Ridge Fire Tower.

I assume it's someone's vacation place. We looked it up the one year and found there was an accompanying sliver of land shore side, we assumed for a dock so you could get out there. It's possible they rent it out, but given the I'm assuming bare bones (solar, compost toilet, lugged propane, etc)...
I made it on my normal hunting trip that year as well in October.
The dogs did their part and put up plenty of birds, the hunters did what they could and bagged a few.

100% agreed, I don't have an OVRLND, but my camper has 4 pop up doors. Previously I had a traditional truck shell with no access on the sides, just crank out windows. I didn't even realize this when I switched over to my camper it's just how it came, but being able to grab items from the side...
I did make it out though for a bit of scouting in the Allegheny National Forest over that summer. Just a couple of camp spot pics as most of the time I spent out with boots on the ground trying to guess where the grouse might be living.

I haven't been on the forum too much lately as life has gotten in the way a bit, so I owe this thread a few updates. My wife had ankle surgery in the Spring of 2023 which took her out of commission for close to a year while she healed up. She's usually my camping partner these days so I took...
A couple of small mod updates, but nothing crazy.
I found some folks using OEM mud flaps on another forum and they looked like a pretty robust but also flexible option. I figured I'd give them a shot and see if they keep the truck and cleaner and keep some of the rocks away. These were pretty...
I headed over to Allegheny National Forest for a quick hunting/camping trip. I wanted to get out another weekend for a bit more hunting this season, but here in my neck of the woods it's been a very warm Fall. Great for me camping, but really tires the dogs out fast.
This was my first time...
Yup, just came back to post this video from TFL stating the same:
I think Ram was just a little misleading with the whole "same bones as the Power Wagon" marketing tag line causing the confusion. I imagine these will still sell, but unless you need either the payload or the tow rating the...
How's everyone's season looking so far?
Managed to pick up a 4 Grouse and a couple of Woodcock between my dad and myself up in the UP last week:

I picked up a 2 Grouse as did my dad, he also bagged a couple of Woodcock. I think it was probably the most flushes I've seen/heard in the past few years going to the UP, but as with Grouse hunting a lot of the flushes were pretty far out. I saw I think more hunters out there than previous...
Spent the past week in the Upper Peninsula chasing Grouse. Lots of great color up there this time of year and explored around to some new spots.
View from the 'Grouse House':

Yeah Ram definitely seems to be very ambiguous about some of the features the Rebel may or may not have, especially the Articulink. we'll have to wait and see what shows up at lots or gets in the hands of reviewers to know for sure.
But I have seen the same comments about folks running 1...
On our last day we awoke to a storm which was projected to stick around all day. I continued along on our route to Stuart and Bickle Knob. As we climbed we broke into heavy fog, making a stop at but decided not to hike up the forest road to Stuart Knob. We continued on to Bickle Knob, again in...
Not sure how much looking you've done recently but pretty much all Rams have gone up by 10k plus in the past year. I was looking at Power Wagons around this time last year and couldn't find anyone to budge from MSRP so I decided to wait. I should not have done that as a base Power Wagon went...
At Todd lake I slightly rerouted our next day to cut out a little bit of double backing and had us set out on some main roads. A great benefit of this is I found we would be passing Fort Edward Johnson which was a civil war era confederate fort. There were some great views and even some of the...
From camp in the morning we loaded back up in the Power Wagon and began the climb up to Flagpole knob.
