I personally would not be interested in a CRV that had been used as a rental. I would take the advice given in another post and wait a few more weeks to get a great deal on a 2010 leftover.

I put an elec.cutoff valve before a filter and then the pump. It goes into the filler pipe and fills the main tank in about an hour while driving. As I was afraid I might forget it was on I put in a timer switch which I can set from a few min. to an hour. Works great!

I'm not sure of the difference, but I had an HJ60 for my 21,000 mile trans Africa trip, with the 4.0 L diesel engine. It never missed beat, and is a truly wonderful vehicle. I think your biggest issue is going to be finding one that hasn't been abused. There was only one quirk to the engine...
