No rub during street driving. It does rub at compression, but does not come in contact with either the fiberglass flares or the sheet metal above. It will take a toll on the plastic liners I predict which need to be pretty heavily modified/replaced with something "custom". I did a quick sketch...

I had my second light develop several 1/4"-3/8" cracks right through the lens overnight while sitting in the garage. I believe it has something to do with expansion of the lens inside the black plastic encasing. Last unit was replaced completely in July. Last time I left the lens but soon...
