Is there an "ultimate" tablet for Gaia/GPS?

Interesting. Gaia has been running seamlessly on my Samsung tablet. It is pretty new and cellular enabled....but ya, it's been great so far. Maybe not as seamless as iOS but it gets the job done nicely for me.

    2nd Gen 4Runner

Yeah man, 92 4Runner here, 3.0, 317000 miles on it and going strong. These motors are really good as long as you have realistic expectations. Mainly, towing and being the first to get away from the stoplight, or climbing mountain passes quickly. I can live with all of that. I love the look, it's...

    Best 4Runner Under 8K? late 90s, early 2000s?

2nd gens and 4th gens are by far the best bang for the buck right now. 1st gens are hitting collector status, and the cool kids crowd has gotten the 3rd gen on their radar for some reason. All 4runners are good. I think I'd go 4th gen for sure. It's very good, not over priced, and parts are...

New version of BackCountry Navigator for Android and iOS on Kickstarter

Yeah I get the rendering lag a bit too, but aside from that it's a great product. I hope he gets more subscribers so it stays around for a long time. I prefer it to Gaia in some ways.

Gazelle tents--how do they do in wind and rain?

I have the T3 and have used it in the CA heat in the valley, all the way to winds and snow at 8000 feet on the side of Mt Shasta. So far so good! The quick setup thing makes folks forget it's still a tent and needs to be staked if the weather is going to be rough. Other than that the...

    Overland Expo 2020....Loveland, Colorado...Yeah!

Colorado is fantastic, but the expo camping being in a grass field, not my style so much. I like the treed area in Flagstaff. If I go I might camp offsite.

slow, budget built '89 toyota pickup expedition rig

Man what a story and killer build! I love the upgrades and showing what can be done with an IFS. That long travel mod, what a difference huh? I really like the whole concept of the build. Probably a bit more than I need, but you gave me a lot of ideas. I have a 2nd gen 4runner right now and I...

1st Gen Tundra vs. 80 Series Land Cruiser

OP your first question was about fuel economy and I'd venture to guess that your current PU will destroy both the LC and Tundra in that department. For instance my 92 4Runner got 22 MPG on a recent trip and a buddies 80 series got around 13 MPG on the same trip. The 80 series is a legend, one...

How many miles are too many to build?

That truck is just getting broken in haha. But really, I have a 92 4Runner with over 300,000 miles on it. We just did a 4 state trip, over 2300 miles, a few hundred of that offroad, and didn't worry about it. The 4runner was flawless. Value in an older rig is entirely in what it means to you...
