Nothing else to stop it from opening, although I wouldn't mind setting it up to accept a lock so that it can't be opened, accidentally or otherwise. The gas strut does stop it from opening too far and hitting the side of the vehicle though.

I'm not 100% sure on that one, but I think so.

Yeah, the big bags can hold a lot of stuff, too much sometimes. One of the reasons I went with the roll top design and heavier duty straps, buckles, etc is to protect peoples gear so they can feel safe carrying more than trash in the bags, so I think the bigger size will have a use for some...
