The AWD Transit has a setting called “mud and ruts” that splits torque 50:50 front and back and disables traction control. It also holds gears longer. The AWD also has a rear LSD.
Something to think about.
For those who already know about Bronco but want to see a new chauffeured test drive, see the above.
I know he wants clicks but it’s fun to hear both driver and passenger’s knowledge and enthusiasm. Lots of talking though.
Go to Transitforumusa to read up on the production halt of Transits due to the chip shortage. My delivery date to the dealer 3 miles from the plant just slipped from April 23 to May 28. I’m kind of wondering if there is a possibility it might not be produced at all and just get canceled.

Here’s something to think about. Is there a Ford or Sprinter capable Mercedes dealer anywhere near that house you are building? Is there one or more on the way there? This is invaluable if you have any van trouble.
In the cargo van you can get just two rear windows or those plus a slider Or windows all around just like a passenger van. You’d have to order a new one that way as I’m sure they are rare.
He’s 20 yrs old, lives with his mom and got sponsors for the build. He’s some sort of racer so probably has more connections that way too. I think at SEMA the van had tracks on it but they were just for show really.
To see a guy get out of a good mud rut with AWD fast forward to 5 min. It’s some sort of SEMA build with Maximum Ladder.
What do you think? Could a 2WD Transit get out of that without getting someone muddy?
Hard to say what’s going on in other people’s heads. Maybe he was trying, maybe not. Maybe he was oblivious to the fact there waa race going on and was listening to Pink Floyd.
Maybe it was not an ecoboost.
Maybe he had 5,000 lbs inside where you didn’t see it.
Go drive one and see what you...
Ford’s new 4 cylinder diesel is also delayed for some reason. Good news is that Ford has two gas engines to take up the slack and you can get AWD on both. Mercedes has one gas engine that they won’t do 4WD on.
This does nothing for the RV makers as all their plans and engineering are useless on...
I’m excited too. Can’t wait to see how all the new options shake out so I can fine tune my order.
There are sooo many things that are unknown. Just the other day someone said they found evidence that you can get rid of “stop, start” on the eco boost by ordering the Ambulance pkg.
I’m looking to buy midsize, high roof Transit within the year. I too want to sleep four in a pinch. I’ve decided I can have the standard East West bed for one guy in the back which folds to reveal a dinette.
I would then have 2 stowable bunks stored hung from the ceiling or hang on the wall. One...
