Off Road / RTT Trailer Build

Lol. We are building the same trailer. You are a little ahead of me but I am catching up lol. I used 8 M8 rivnuts to hold my tank assembly under the trailer. Going into 14G steel, they should have plenty of clamping power, and longevity. I am also keeping the water pump down there.

    Stainless steel snorkel

Stainless exhaust pipe is great if your have the fab skills to make it happen. You only need a thin gauge and on a big block chevy the difference in weight is irrelevant.

Talk Me Out of an OBS as a budget overlanding rig!

referencing the "abysmal" support comment from the earlier post. I am not sure what you mean. I have a 2500HD. I bought a sub $200 leveling keys, and installed them in my driveway in under an hour. You can spend about $250 on upgraded tie rod ends that wont bend - pretty much the only weak...

    Van heating thread

Basically you have to adjust the air fuel ratio (AFR). Sometimes that means a different jet (changes the amount of fuel injected for air coming in), or you can change the fuel's energy density (kerosene vs diesel).

Talk Me Out of an OBS as a budget overlanding rig!

I think it was mentioned earlier but a Chev/GMC with an LS 6.0 is cheap, ubiquitous, and with a few suspension mods (reasonably priced) can be made quite capable and reliable. On the diesel side I would look for a cummins over a powerstroke, as the fuel system can be made "Mexico-proof" more...

PEX Sharkbite push on fittings or crimp

I have used the standard SS crimp fcitting in the past in custom RVs, food trucks, houses. They work great. I would use them. All you need is a $20 pliers to crimp them.
