yes that is an issue and I would be bummed too. The controller/ charger must have software/capability to deal with the shutdown feature on a lithium. It is reccomended battery is to be stored inside at a normal to cool but not cold temp. I will be taking ours out at end of our camping season...

Much obliged , even further instruction manual/ app examination reveals that the rover 40A does not provide any time for an equalization period on a lithium bat. Encouraging in that respect. For now we will limit our camping to above freezing but monitor battery closely during sneaky cold fronts.

thanks again, if I follow you... When I set up at location, I would just connect the suitcase panels/ with it's own controller to the battery direct. The rack top solar will be always connected once installed. So both systems will feed battery at same time.

Thanks a lot guys. We have a renogy 200 watt suitcase to replenish batteries. I guess weight is real issue. A large 200 ah single battery weighs as much as 2 gc2s so it remains a height issue and venting also. Today is tongue wt. day!

thanks will be weighing tongue wt today to be sure, 2 gc2s are around 130 lbs or so, if I want over 200 ah. box just fits but I'll need to strap down so it can be pulled out.

Am hoping to install 2 gc2 6 volt batteries in an appropriate bat box inside our 2017 max flyer plus. Would it be safe enough in this space to do? Will use existing vent hose and also bottom floor vent floor opening as well. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Stan
