I wired my winch control in parallel to be operated from either the interior switch or the provided controller. I haven't touched the controller since. I'm always in the drivers seat anyway.
The control switch is just to activate the high current side. Any normal 12V switch should be ok, but...
I have Coolgear 60w usb box as described previously in my truck and it works great. I use it along with andersons to charge my portable battery pack. It outputs 60w as claimed.

I have had Alcan leaf springs (3" lift, +300lbs) on my Frontier for about 8 months and have noticed no settling. I have thoroughly used them in that 8 months and am very happy. The awful creaking and groaning even went away after a few months.
To address your actual concern. You fuse to protect your smallest gauge component. Foruntatly this is very easy with the switchpros. The app allows you to set the current limit for each output. So set the current limit to 20A for that channel and you are good to go.
